Technical Theater Experience
Designlab Chicago Shop Technician & Production/Install Technician (2004 - 2009)
Worked with Rental Staff to prep, maintain, and inventory equipment for rental to a diverse pool of customers including schools, small and large theater companies, television and film studios, and individuals working in the entertainment industry. Delivered rentals throughout a five state area with both a cargo van and box truck (Class C driver’s license). Set-up and tore-down for productions including television shoots, ice shows, standard theater productions, awards ceremonies, bar mitzvahs and other private parties, and trade shows. Installed full lighting systems in schools, theaters, and television studios throughout the greater Chicago area.
Off-Broadway Theatre House Master Electrician & Sound & Light Board Operator (2001 – 2004)
Worked with designers, directors, and production staff to realize the artistic vision for over 30 productions. Hung, circuited, focused, maintained and repaired a stock of lighting and sound equipment as well as accessing the need of new or rental equipment for continuous productions from four separate theater companies including Next Act Theatre, Renaissance Theaterworks, Biaylstock & Bloom, and Milwaukee Dance Theater, as well as many other smaller productions and musical performances. Operated a ETC Express 24/48 lighting console for technical rehearsals through production for most productions. Also operated a 16-channel sound board for some productions.
