Air Quality Technician at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal near Denver, Colorado. The project involved the use and calibration of real time and time integrated air monitoring equipment for remedial actions (RA) and Remedial Investigations (RIs). Duties also included the use and maintenance of the onsite meteorological equipment, odor monitoring and opacity observations, and compile data in a DOS formatted program, create charts and reports, as well as maintaining inventory for the Quality Department. Demonstrated excellent communication skills and ability to train new hires. Worked well with others in a team atmosphere.
Woodward-Clyde Federal Services
Representative at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. Duties included all aspects of air monitoring as a technician.
Woodward-Clyde waste management and sample tracking for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), GSA Phase II Remedial Investigation at Hamilton Army Airfield near San Francisco, California. Duties included disposal of mobile laboratory samples, identification of soil cutting stockpiles that required sampling, and sample tracking of analytical results. Also included computer skills such as Excel, Word Perfect, and reading CAD printouts.
Woodward-Clyde Treatment Plant Operator/Site Safety Officer for the Air Force Center of Environmental Excellence (AFCEE), RA at Fairchild Air Force Base (AFB) near Spokane, Washington. Implementation of an RA to install a multi-layered CERCLA cap and a groundwater treatment system and operation and maintenance (O&M) of the system for one and half years. Duties included daily O&M, influent/effluent off gas and water sampling, and granular activated carbon (GAC) sampling. I provided oversight and coordinated subcontractor work for system modifications. I also contributed to the preparation of O&M reports and manuals.
Woodward-Clyde FEMA Representative for the 1997 North Dakota snow emergency. Duties included coordinating project documentation and completing reports for financial assistance. Demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
Woodward-Clyde Representative at the Cyprus Climax Henderson Mill near Dillon, Colorado. Oversight of the drilling and installation of horizontal drains in the tailing dams with excellent customer service skills.
Woodward-Clyde pipefitter/plant operator for the Interim Remedial Action (IRA) Soil Vapor Extraction Pilot Test for the East Trenches area at the US Department of Energy (DOE) Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site (RFETS) near Denver, Colorado. Built and installed pipe and equipment, and operation of a system pilot test to evaluate the SVE technology at RFETS. Duties included O&M, sampling of influent/ effluent off gas, health and safety oversight radiological and organic monitoring, GAC change out oversight, and waste management. Computer skills using excel, word perfect.
Woodward-Clyde Sampling Technician for a RFI, Trench Investigation for the DOE RFETS. Duties included geoprobe sampling in the area of suspected trenches and collecting soil gas samples, and soil samples for analytical characterization. Duties also included collecting soil gas samples, assisting in sample management, waste management, and oversight of health and safety.
Woodward-Clyde Sampling Technician for the site-wide groundwater-monitoring program for the DOE RFETS. Duties included collecting groundwater samples, assisting in analyzing and evaluating samples, data management, and health and safety oversight.
Woodward-Clyde O&M Technician at the DOE RFETS. This project involved O&M of the main decontamination facility (MDF). Duties included daily O&M, sample collection of liquid containment and sedimentation from tanks for analytical and chemistry characterization. I also calibrated radiological and organic monitoring instrumentation. Decontamination area, piping, tanks, and equipment, inspections, monitoring MDF operations, and health and safety oversight. I supported the design of a second decontamination facility in the protected area (PA). I also assisted in writing and organizing the safety and operational manual for the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Waste Management duties at the DOE RFETS consisted primarily of drum management. Duties included drum inspections, initiating paperwork to track each drum from cradle to grave, and drum removal from the field to a staging area.
Christensen Boyles Corporation
Sand Creek Superfund Site. Duties included serving as a driller and driller assistant in the remedial investigation for DDT and pesticides at a vacant pesticide manufacturing plant.
Support for the remedial investigation on Operable Unit One (OU1) at DOE RFETS. Duties included support for drill rigs and drill crews, decontamination of equipment (drill rigs, drilling equipment, and sample equipment), relief driller assistant, waste management, and assistance in the construction modifications on the new decontamination facility (MDF).
Driller assistant at DOE RFETS. Primary duties were to check the sludge ponds at the waste treatment plant to determine if the constructed trench (French drain) was working per specifications, located on a highly contaminated areas on the 881 hillside.
Experience working at various other Superfund sites, landfill areas (Erie landfill, I-76 extension), CECLA and RCRA waste sites (Rocky Mountain Arsenal, Syntex Chemicals, Inc.). Hazardous waste sites: Coors, Buckley Air Force Base, and gas stations. Course work covering stream flow measurements, operation of wastewater treatment plant.
