“Culvert analysis and Design in Delaware, OH” Sr. Design Project {2011-2012}
Researched and surveyed the area, determined the flows for the 10 year and 100 year return storm using HEC-HMS, stream stat, etc. Analyzed the existing culverts using Culver Master and Hec_RAS. Analyzed the options using the same software and conducted cost estimate. The design and results presented to client, faculty and student.
“Analysis of the K-truss using Sap 2000”
Worked with SAP 2000 to identify the maximum stress and deflection in the truss members.
“Finite Element Analysis of corrugated metal culverts”
Using FEA software Ansys Workbench conducted a static analysis of 3x1 corrugated metal culvert using D-load of 950 Ib/ft. Determined the maximum deflections and stresses and compared the solution with Sap 2000.
Slope stability analysis using GeoStudio software determined the lowest factor of safety of the slope, foundation design of two story parking structure
Knowledge of ACI 318 codes and design of reinforced concrete beams and columns
Knowledge of AISC 13th edition manual and experience design of columns, beams, tension members using LRFD and ASD method.
Skills
Experience with most Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Bentley products such as Flow master, Culvert master,SewerCAD, StormCAD. Other engineering related programs such as HEC-RAS, SAP 2000, Ansys Workbench (FEA), EES, AutoCAD 2011 and GeoStudio.
