Responsible for systems including Point-of-Sale (POS), electronic cabin door locks and guest cruise cards. Duties included developing project workplans, resource planning, hiring of staff, staff meetings, year-end reviews, yearly budgeting process and development of funding requests for Corporate Planning department.
* Led project for major upgrade of POS systems across fleet of 11 ships, including hardware and software upgrades (IBM POS with 4683 terminals and 4690 operating system).
* Led project to upgrade electronic cabin door lock system (VingCard) across the fleet for Year 2000 compliance.
* Led POS system selection and implementation for new ship "Voyager of the Seas", with over 125 POS terminals. Led team in configuration of system by staff and vendors, working closely with the business units and shipboard staff to build system. Worked with vendor on system enhancements, multiple iterations of testing, interaction with property management system (PMS) team regarding the POS-PMS interface, and implementation onboard the ship.
* Led project team (approx. 12 people) in planning, development and implementation of upgrades to property management system and cabin door lock system on fleet. Systems were interfaced for seamless customer satisfaction.
* Analyzed potential vendors to select food operations management system (CrunchTime, CBORD), designed to save company approximately $1M per year. Selected vendor after site visits to headquarters of finalists, as well as interviews with their customers.
* Involved in hiring staff to increase size of Shipboard Business Systems team. Updated job specifications, worked with recruiting firms, interviewed candidates.
Project Leader (1996 - 1998)

Led projects to build & implement systems for increased operational efficiencies and/or cost savings. Led teams including I.T. staff, vendors, consultants and staff from user departments.
* Managed "ShipNet" system implementation across entire fleet, which involved introduction of WAN environment between ships and shoreside. Involved Windows NT servers, satellite communications (C-Band), Lotus Notes email, and intelligent data transfer between ship & shore using "XcelleNet" software. Led installation teams on beta-site ship and 5 other ship implementations. Teams consisted of employees from various departments plus consultants (Lotus Notes and trainers). Managed overall project rollout across fleet. Planned training held onboard ship in NT, Lotus Notes, and MS-Office. Interviewed and selected trainers.
* Developed project workplans for all projects, funding request documents for projects, tracked budget vs. actual dollars throughout project life cycle. Involved in functional specification and design phases of software development, Lotus Notes infrastructure guidelines and testing of Lotus Notes and XcelleNet software before ship implementations.
* Led development efforts of staff and consultants for Lotus Notes and XcelleNet software, worked closely with AS/400 developers.
* Managed Stage 2 of "ShipNet" system implementation across fleet, involving enhancements to ship's property management system, development of new data file transfer (ship-to-shore) scripts, and development of simple Lotus Notes applications. Led installation team on the "beta-site" ship implementation.
