PAST ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

• As Controller at a Midwest bank, our management team grew the Balance Sheet by 300% and increased earning 500% in 5 years. Took primary role in implementing a new holding company organization and preparing the public offering.

• Structured, negotiated, financed, and closed the leveraged buyout (LBO) of a Fortune 500 subsidiary. Result was a stand-alone business with new ownership.

• Restructured the finances of a Denver-based oil driller, canceling a long-term lease commitment without penalty, eliminating $30 Million long-term liability. Result was to avoiding bankruptcy.

• Structured and negotiated the downsizing of a heavy construction business caught in the oil price decline of the 80’s. Result was to sell a problem business segment at an affordable loss and return the company to their core business.

• Brought several IPOs to market as a securities underwriter, including an atomic-powered pacemaker and a “Doc-in-the-box” deal that rose to $50 from $6.25 in 3 months.

• Organized management reporting procedures for a large local Engineering firm and accomplished a goal of isolating and improving problem jobs. Result was to improve overall firm profitability.

• Developed inventory management and reporting procedures for a manufacturer and international marketer of specialty chemicals. Result was timelier inventory information and reduction in inventory investment.

• Developed improvements to worldwide revenue forecasting and budgeting processes for Fortune 100 automotive manufacturer in Ch 11 bankruptcy. Implementation was in process, but incomplete, when the position was eliminated during bankruptcy proceedings.

• Developed and implemented a solution to a long-standing records problem in a major transaction cycle for Fortune 500 subsidiary. Designed and implemented accounting procedures and controls, including Sarbox documentation and evaluation. Result was reliable records and 20% reduction in related staff.

• As an independent provider of Continuing Professional Education for the Indiana CPA Society, developed and presented hundreds of one-day seminars for controllers and practicing CPAs. Topics included Sarbanes-Oxley, Management reporting, Business planning and budgeting, Database, and advanced user skills for MS Office users. Twice selected Outstanding Discussion Leader of the Year.
