I worked in the IT(Information Technology) department providing technical customer support as serving as a troubleshooter for network and computer related problems, including help-desk support, advice and solutions to computer end users.
I set up Local area networks(LAN) and installed new end-user configurations and new versions of software and updates on computer terminals.
I provided statistical data to managers of all levels derived from the network application of DSS reporting all progress/failures that may affect tests that are undergoing from the DDC.
My basic responsibilities involved analyzing/isolating system failures, identifying/documenting/testing and gathering critical information needed to solve problems with the network/server environment in order to determine if the failures are the result of software, hardware problems. My knowledge in the server room/burn stations knowledge/computer equipment, software, printer installations, physically setting up print areas helped ensure a productive workforce in DSS.
Informed work force awareness of potential issues,track/maintain records of automated systems downtime,resolve system problems, equipment production problems for government furnished automatic data processing equipment,resolve equipment/DSS issues at the local level.
Much of the work force depended upon sharing folders on the server in order to accomplish their assigned tasks. I granted permissions in order to share.
I resolved system problems, equipment production problems for government furnished automatic data processing equipment. Troubleshot various utility, communication, word processing, database, spreadsheet, and network software.
My job also consisted of analyzing and monitoring work flow to ensure accurate program execution, interpreting local command directives, following DDC regulations. Made recommendations and established plans to improve performance of hardware and software.
I provided troubleshooting support for blackberry users, end users computer. RF devices, conference videos from the DDC and network server problems in the server room and connection problems to the network.
I also worked in the shop repairing/replacing, upgrading various hardware in the computer. I replaced/upgraded memory/hard drive/ATX mobo graphics card /power supply/SCSI hard drive chains replacements and upgrades., etc.
I am experienced in working on printers (laser/ dot matrix) as well as computers.
I worked next to the local network administrator to solve problems that existed with the network and the server. I have devised recovery plans for potential system failures in order to keep the network up and running.
NOTE: I HAVE TAKEN THE A+ COURSES-SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE AND PASSED AT TEXARKANA COLLEGE. MY CERTIFICATION TEST WAS NOT TAKEN DUE TO A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AT THAT TIME.
