Global Petroleum, a $5.8 billion company, is the largest wholesaler of heating fuel and petroleum products on the East coast maintaining an inventory of 93M barrels of fuel.
Maintained, designed and developed software to track mark to market inventory so that the cost and price could be compared to the daily price for the geographical terminal and the New York Mercantile Exchange
Mark to Market inventory allowed users to compare costs calculated either as flat fee, percentage of price, or per unit and prices to the daily value of inventory as determined by fluctuations in the market.Designed and created a basis report for reporting on the profitability of petroleum inventory comparing price and cost with market prices from the physical locality and New York Mercantile Exchange
Maintained and significantly modified the strategy report for this inventory using EAE reporting facilities to obtain values, costs and prices of the product inventory that included floating prices that were determined over a series of business days and daily market prices.
