Objective: To find an Accounting/Customer Service position. I am looking for something involving A/R, A/P or Billing. I am looking for an opportunity to maintain contact and relationships with customers to insure that their needs and questions are taken care of in a timely and professional manner. I am also looking for an opportunity to create a positive impression of the company and also to increase sales, if applicable.

Skills and Experience:

I have worked in Accounts Receivable for 10+ years involving both large commercial/wholesale accounts, as well as individual accounts.

I have been involved with billing in each of the jobs that I have had.

I posted payments to customer accounts, including posting payments against selected invoices. In the event that the payments did not match up to the invoices, I worked with the customer to insure that any discrepancies were cleared up.

I posted credits to customer accounts, applying the credits to the appropriated invoices whenever possible.

I applied Finance Charges when applicable.

I have experience in working with General Ledgers.

I created aging reports and followed company guidelines on contacting past due accounts to collect payments. I did work with account collections, including small claims court.

Reconciled problems with customer accounts by gathering facts and working with the customer to insure both the customer and the company are satisfied.

I have worked independently during my last 2 jobs, with very little supervision. I have the ability to work well in those situations.

I have experience in Accounts Payable as well, where I matched up invoices to be paid with the original PO’s to insure proper payment was both authorized and paid. If there were discrepancies, I followed up with vendors to insure that problem was cleared up and that proper payment or credit was submitted.

I followed up with vendors to insure proper credit memos were given and posted properly.

I have experience in Customer Service and Sales, which include close contact with customers re: order status, billing questions, product information and account status.

I also have experience in Customer Service and cash handling, including bank deposits: I worked closely with customers to insure they received service in a professional manner.

Knowledge and Skills:

I have very good communication skills, which allows me to communicate with the customer(s) and maintain a productive relationship.

I have taken numerous computer courses at New Horizons Learning Center, including Word, Excel, Outlook (all through level 3), Adobe Acrobat and Windows XP.

I have a high level of reading and writing skills, which helps with communication with customers.
