EXPERIENCE
2010-Present Multicam inc.
Sr Field Service Technical Support Representative
Regular duties: OEM equipment technician for multiple CNC platforms i.e. Routers, Water Jets Plasma, Oxy and knife cutting machines. Performed installations and training on machine operation, and programming in addition to specific applications cutting techniques. Conducted 50% of support via phone. Solutions typically required 50% mechanical, 25% electrical and 25% software.
2006-2009 JB Management/Syracuse Research Corporation (Warlock Program)
Site Lead Sr Field Service Engineer (Computer Engineer/Analyst L3)
Conducted Electronic Warfare System maintenance, supported initial field testing of a new Counter Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device System (RCIED). Training was given by one of the designing engineers at the production facility in Syracuse NY. Lessons covered system installation on multiple military and civilian vehicles, operation diagnostics/troubleshooting and repair procedures. On site in a dynamic multi-contractor/government environment and participated as part of an integrated product team for test and analysis. System test equipment included, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, digital phosphor oscilloscope, Data acquisition/switch unit, AC/DC power supply, DC/DC power supply, attenuators, diplexers, couplers, PC controlled automated test equipment and Anritsu hand-held spectrum analyzer.
Served as the Production Engineer as needed and full time Lead Technician during an upgrade assembly line to optimize system capabilities. Managing twelve other Field Service Representatives upgrading over 8,000 systems in country (Iraq) each system taking an average of four hours to complete the assembly line process.
Upgrade purpose was to open radio frequency range, output power and Xilinx access to the DDS and DSP. Consisting of installing one additional amplifier, multiple RF hard lines, upgraded firmware on Digital Signal Processor and Direct Digital Synthesizer, soldered 26 gauge wires to DSUB connector, replaced cannon plug and circuit breaker. Crimp 26 gauge contacts and inserted into Molex connector. Checked continuity between solder joints, Molex connector and DSUB connector. Post of final assembly system is run through Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to optimize system capabilities.
Instructor for formal and informal, classified and unclassified training lesions in a combat environment to Soldiers, Airman, Sailors and Marines. Course objective range from basic operators training to senior level instructor training.
Daily operations: Train other Field Service Representatives on proper installation, test each system for operability, troubleshoot faulty systems down to the component or circuit card and remove/replace techniques concerning Digital Signal Processors, Direct Digital Synthesizer, Dual Agile LO Synthesizers for High Speed Tuning/timing, Power Amplifiers, Power Filters, DC/DC power Supplies, RF lines, Wiring Harnesses, Antennas/Cables and Connections, Power boards and cables.
Ensured proper tolerances in Radio Frequency paths/power outputs (dbm) in Low and High Bands, Transmit/Receive functions, GPS satellite sink, Current draw, Temperatures and Analog to digital/digital to analog converters.
