Controller and Corporate Secretary
Member of key executive team that led the Company’s entry into the US market. Helped establish the strategic plan, operational objectives, organizational structure, and facilities layout. Managed the accounting , treasury and administrative functions including: human resource administration, tax planning, regulatory and management reporting, operations analysis, and project accounting. Prepared and controlled a $115 million annual budget, balance sheets, cash flow statements, financial statements. Provided executive leadership regarding all accounting initiatives. Worked closely with banking officials, auditors and attorneys.
• Generated cash flow of $26M which reduced interest expense by $1.5 million by working with CPA firm to maximize the percentage of completion tax planning on a $430 million project.
• Played a critical role in the tremendous growth of this global material handling materials organization from revenues of $10 million to more than $115 million.
• Cultivated and maintained productive working relationships with Surety Company that facilitated an initial Line of Credit of $40 million. Later negotiated the LOC up to present level of $340 million.
• A/P audit by third party firm reviewed in excess of $500M in invoices over a 4 year period resulting in a payout of only $1,800.00 to the third party (one invoice).
• Established and controlled cash and financial management for 10 bank accounts in 5 banks and 4 countries
• Core team member that established a new facility in Canada and Mexico; in first year Canada generated $18 million and Mexico $4 million.
• Implemented new processes and systems in order to streamline all accounting functions, establish all necessary internal controls and to improve on accuracy and timing of monthly financial information.

• Successfully restructured over $40 million in secured and unsecured debt. Coordinated the activities of investment bankers in the “due diligence” process resulting in successful sale of one subsidiary for $14 million.
• Promoted from Corporate Controller to Assistant Treasurer and Administrative Officer in 1993
• Designed management information and reporting systems including detailed monthly spreadsheets and variance explanations, annual budget/forecast spreadsheets and presentation charts.
• Designed and implemented cash management systems and spreadsheets used to report sales, inventory and cash position to bankers on daily basis.
• Presided over and coordinated the closing of the Tecumseh, KS plant. Participated in the design of the severance policy, set up program to explain termination schedule and benefit plan options to employees.
