WORK EXPERIENCE
Presently working as a senior foreman (Hull Production) in Keppel FELS Singapore from March 2008 onwards.
Project:- B281 MEARSK DISCOVER-SEMI submergible rig
The job involves,
Verification of Hull structure with the drawings during block stage and after erection also.
Review and approve inspections on a progressive bases and minimizing delays in final inspections.
Check welding joints, materials, erection of outfitting items.
Preparation of erection schedule for the outfitting items and close follow up of ongoing job including preparation of outstanding job list.
Ensure that contractor inspection personnel are achieving inspection levels as required by project ITP and workflow rate.
Coordinating with Classification societies like ABS and submission of reports to assure a quality product.
Coordinating with Design Department in handling the alteration to approved drawings and questions arising during the building process.
Ensure contractor’s deployment of quality manpower is adequate.
Assist section manager for any task given related to job.
Overall leading of hull section including the representative for hull contractors during meetings.
Shop Experience:- Panel Line Shop
The Job involves,
Ensure the quality fabrication of all panels for SEMI, jack-up rigs and repair ships with in the scheduled time.
Liaising with engineering dept and P&C department regarding with latest alteration drawings and site queries.
Liaise with the client and certifying authority to ensure all projects requirements are being achieved.
Provide early warning of potential quality and safety problems.
Ensure that competent and approved tradesman is used to carry out the structural works.
Ensure the inspection reports have been issued and signed off appropriately as required.
Worked as a Trainee Engg in production hull section in Bharati Shipyard Mumbai from November 2006 to March 2008.
Verification of Hull structure with the drawings both on skid and berth.
Associated with the fabrication, Assembly, Erection, fairing, welding and dry survey etc during the construction of Hull Structures.
Inspection of welding of hull structure at various points both on skid and berth.
Coordinating with Classification societies like Bureau Veritas, Indian Register of shipping etc in scheduling inspections, tests and submission of reports to assure a quality product.
Conducting various tests like APT, LPT after completion of welding with QC and classification societies.
Worked as Plant engineer in Beepath castings Pvt Ltd in Palakkad from September 2005 to November 2006.
Management of inventory stock of scrap for production in furnace and maintenance in rolling mill section.
Analysis of the material as per the chemical test.
Inspection of the final TMT & TOR bars according with the quality standards in UTM machine.
Ensuring minimum mechanical defects.
TRAINING / CERTIFICATION
Passed “Shipyard Safety supervisor Course” from Singapore.
Attended workshop on “Welding for Ship Building “at Naval Materials and Research Laboratory, Ambernath.
Undergone class for the confined space safe entry training program from Keppel Fels.
