Ten years of professional experience in process engineering design, simulation, equipment sizing, PFDs and P&IDs and startup. Russell also has more than seven years experience working on a variety of hydrogenation units and hydrogenation technology. These include hydrotreaters, hydrocrackers, hydrodesulfurization (HDS), PyGas Treaters (diolefins and olefins hydrogenations), and coal liquefaction. He has completed projects in sour water stripping, amine regeneration, and hydrogen recovery. He was involved in the startup of the first ebullated-bed HVGO hydrocracking unit in Perm, Russia and a naphtha hydrotreater Prince George, BC Canada.

RELATED EXPERIENCE

Senior Engineer, Middough, Mt. Laurel, NJ (2007-Present)

• Lead Process Engineer for Detailed Design of the Central Utilities Building for Valent BioSciences ($40 MM TIC)

• Completed HYSYS simulation/Heat & Material Balance of a Naphtha & Diesel Hydrotreater, a Reformer, and a Crude Unit with a 13,000 bpd capacity for AGE Refining

Results led to a successful start up of the units

• Completed Process Safety Information (PSI) requirements of the Process Safety Management (PSM) for the Boiler House, Plant Air, Flare, Tank Farm, Crude, Vacuum & Naphtha Hydrotreater Units for Marathon Canton Refinery

• Developed a fluids model to study the FCC Hydrotreater at Valero Delaware City Refinery

Analysis indicated Diolofin Reactor capacity can be increased by 10%

• Completed detailed relief valve analysis for refinery and specialty chemicals clients

• Completed HYSYS dynamic simulation as part of a hydraulic study for Linde

Analysis showed current piping is adequate to simultaneously fill six BMW vehicles with hydrogen in the allotted time

Process Engineer II, Axens North America Inc., Princeton, NJ (2002-2007)

• Involved in the successful start-up of a Gasoline Hydrotreater unit with a 3,500 bpd capacity in Alberta, Canada

• Performed a conformance check and technical support in Perm, Russia in collaboration with the ChevronTexaco team of the first ebullated bed HVGO hydrocracking unit (T-STAR) with a 70,500 bpd capacity

• Led the material balance and acceptance test run activities for the T-STAR Unit

Assignment resulted in a successful Start-up and operation of T-STAR Unit

Promoted to Process Engineer Level II

• Performed simulations and heat and material balances for the first commercialization of a multi billion dollar direct coal liquefaction process (H-Coal) with a 47,300 bpd capacity

• Developed Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), and Operating Flow Diagrams (OFD’s) for the Slurry Mixing, Reaction and Fractionation Units of H-Coal

• Completed process design, including Pro/II simulations, equipment sizing, PFD’s and P&ID’s on hydrodesulfurization, hydrocracking, sour water stripping, amine regeneration, and H2 recovery units

• Developed over pressure cases for relief valve sizing

• Developed PFD’s, P&ID’s, and equipment sizing for the biodiesel transesterification process Esterfip-H

• Participated in Naphtha Hydrotreater HAZOP

• Adhered to Engineering Standards and ISO 9001
