DISSERTATION Mechanical Engineering Master’s Thesis
Development of a MEMs Invention Machine
Dr. Jason Clark, Professor of Mechanical Engineering
In Progress
Working with Matlab and SUGAR to develop an artificial intelligence program that creates various MEMs device based on functional specifications. Created algorithms using genetic programming techniques such as crossovers, mutations, and the natural selection process that had successfully reinvented the thermo electric actuator and the chevron actuator.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE SURF Program, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN
Development of Lab Procedures for Robotics Course
Dr. George Chiu, Professor of Mechanical Engineering
Summer 2009
Created lab manuals that will aid future students in learning how to build a robot. Implemented the use of programmable microcontroller boards to replace PLCs that were used in previous versions of the course. Worked with servomotors, digital and analog sensors, and electrical testing equipment.
IUPUI, Indianapolis, IN
Determination of Electric Noise (Disturbance) in Automotive Power Steering System
Dr. Sohel Anwar, Professor of Mechanical Engineering
Summer 2007
Designed wiring diagram and wired analog amplifiers and servo motors. Built and machined an aluminum & wooden platform for steering wheel column.
INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE Roche Diagnostics, Indianapolis, IN
Project Development Controls Group
Provided Controls Engineering Support for Process Development Team
Spring 2010, Summer 2011
Performed analysis and testing on various sensors on production machines and components associated with blood glucose monitoring test strips for the Diabetes Care Division. Worked in a team with engineers on several projects including thickness testing on test strip reagent coating; reagent viscosity testing with pressure sensors, viscometers, and pumps; barcode reader comparison and analysis; servo and actuator installation; Gage R&R analysis on proximity sensors, and troubleshooting for errors in the packaging line.
Lexmark Int., Lexington, KY
High End Laser Color Transfer Group
Analysis of Toner Quality in High End Laser Printer due to Varying Current Signals
Spring 2008
Performed optimization testing on toner transfer for high end laser printer models. Used DMM, voltage supply and oscilloscope to measure and collect voltage and current signals through color transfer roll. Created data entry program in Matlab that analyzed optimum operating conditions.
ORGANIZATIONS Purdue Solar Racing Fall 2006 to Fall 2009
Organized weekly design meetings for Mechanical Engineering Team as Mechanical Engineering Director. Worked on suspension system for the solar car, Celeritas, and trained new members on how to build and analyze a suspension system.
Pi Tau Sigma (Mechanical Engineering Honors Fraternity)
Spring 2007 to Fall 2009
