Description GWE is a SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) based basic workflow engine which demonstrates a workflow monitoring service. The project also demonstrates a way of easy adaption of SOA in small to medium scale company without much modification to the existing infrastructure. The solution is for a civil engineering company which has 14 departments and a department named as COS (Corporate Office Services) which provides a convenient central point of contact which can be used by any employee of the company for getting any kind of interdepartmental service (If some employee wants a car to travel, but doesn’t know whom to contact, can post his request to a COS employee, who takes responsibility of getting him a car in time). The main objective of the software solution was to help this department (COS) in tracking progress and enforcing timely delivery of all such interdepartmental services within the company.
Results The solution implemented an activity based workflow engine service which had provided alerts, messages and real-time monitoring of business processes
The solution has lead to the development and implementation of a new software architecture which could accommodate existing infrastructure (Servlets, JSP, swing etc.) with ease
The solution demonstrated Database type / location independence, ease of maintenance due to easy and reliable modifiability of application and ease of implementing asynchronous events and automated tasks
Title College Enrollment Process (Mini Project)

Description The enrollment comes on a daily basis and back up of daily input is kept for 270 days. The enrollment file should be processed for all the application and then data should be kept on a VSAM (KSDS) Master database files on some criteria (more than 80 percent). The total number of successful and unsuccessful enrollments should be displayed on spool and kept in separate files.
