Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Accountable for all engineering activities within the plant. Functions include design and development of process improvement through out operations, automated machine design, bill of materials and prints, plant engineering for the facilities mechanical and electrical needs and maintenance engineering of production equipment.

• Manage projects from concept through completion.

• Research and implement appropriate improvements to tool build standards.

• Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

• In charge of tooling design for Automotive stamping dies. Including Progressive, Transfer and Tandem dies.

• Select the proper materials, heat treat, material finishes and fabrication processes required to meet stringent performance requirements.

• Utilize Pro-e, I-deas, and Mechanical Desktop software to design and develop tooling.

• Coordinate and Track the build of tooling and fixtures to insure a quality and cost effective tool.

• Design robot weld assembly fixtures, gauges, test equipment and automated machines.

• Create CAD models to produce G-Code programming as well as manual programming for CNC equipment.

• Call for and conduct peer design reviews for the more complex mechanical design approaches.

• Analyze and Perform initial hands on component assembly and debugging of prototype systems. Assist manufacturing engineer/production during initial production system builds.

• Make recommendations on maintenance of equipment and spare part requirements, and managing all phases of projects, including, budget and schedule.

• Use Pro-e to set up database for drawings and to Design a wide variety of high volume applications such as electronic personal communication devices, set-top boxes and plastic and metal computer chassis.

• Serve as the primary technical contact for Sheet metal fabrication and Punch press operations.

• Design automated assembly cells for Welding, Riveting and Press Assembly.

• Responsible for checking all cad drawings for dimensional accuracy, correct material specifications and drafting procedures, accuracy of developed sheet metal flat patterns, and accuracy of accompanying bills of material.

• Provide technical direction for the design, development and systems integration for new equipment and projects from definition through implementation

• Write NC Programs for Amada Punch Press.

Manufacturing Design Engineer: Jackson MSC, Barbourville, Kentucky.

March 1998 to August 2000.

• Design New and Existing Products for Ware washing equipment and produce specialized products for the food service industry.

• Primarily responsible for design of commercial under counter dishwashers and glass washing units.

• Collaborate with R /D and Marketing to develop new products.

• Create bill of materials and exploded isometric drawings for Machine setup and technical manuals.

• Assist Product Management on technical matters pertaining to Stainless Steel sheet metal Fabrication.

• Designed ergonomic stations and fixtures for high volume assembly production as Lead Project Engineer.

• Provide technical support to Field Technicians for the installation and startup of equipment.

Plant Engineering Technician: National Standard Woven Products, Corbin, Kentucky.

August 1995 to January 1998.

• Responsible for the design and setup of new equipment for two separate Wire weaving/drawing plants.

• Implementation of QS-9000.

• Inspect designed parts supplied by vendors for conformance to print.

• Coordinate new design projects and machine shop operations for engineering projects.

• Aid purchasing in proper parts selection and acquisition for engineering.

• Create and maintain all drafting files and documentation for manufacturing.
