Global Tier 1 supplier of windshield wipers and assemblies to the automotive industry. Approximately 4,000 employees worldwide.

Corporate Human Resource Manager

• Revamped the H/R organization and successfully put in place a number of key initiatives.

• Project leader/implementation of new ADP HRIS/Payroll system for the US operation (approx. 600 employees). Designed and implemented the modules for benefits, open enrollment, training, lost time tracking. Manage the executive payroll and oversee all payrolls for the U.S. operation.

• Manage tax issues, workers’ compensation, audits, legal issues.

• Prepare and submit all mandated legal reporting – EEO, Vets100, AAP.

• Responsibilities include recruitment at all levels in the organization, talent selection and new hire orientations.

• Outsourced COBRA administration, garnishments, unemployment.

• Handle all employee relations issues for the Corporate Headquarters, maintaining very low turnover.

• Developed a comprehensive salary structure, created job descriptions, responsible for staffing, benefit design and administration (fully insured and self-insured), develop policies and procedures and any and all other generalist functions.

• 401k administration including providing to Fidelity census data to prepare discrimination testing and preparation of 5500 draft. Ensure the plan is audited and the 5500 is filed timely. Also ensure the 5500 is filed for the Health & Welfare Plan.

• Manage and maintain a legacy life insurance plan with approximately 800 participants. Requires constant coordination with life insurance company and the administrator to report deaths and maintain an accurate file for actuarial purposes.

GUARDIAN ANGEL HOME CARE, INC., Rochester Hills, MI 2/2007 – 11/2007

Family owned homecare business providing both medicare and private pay healthcare services to the elderly and disabled in the community. Several offices in Michigan including offices in Ohio, California and Nevada.

• Responsible for writing policies and procedures to comply with CHAPS requirements in order to attain medicare certification.

VELTRI METAL PRODUCTS, INC., Troy, MI 2000 – 2004

Privately held metal stamping company, Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry with approximately 2000 employees worldwide and $300 million in annual sales. Veltri filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and the assets were subsequently sold.

Corporate Human Resource Director

Position reported to the CEO. Responsible for approximately 70 corporate employees and five U.S. divisions – four in Michigan and one in Tennessee (750 U.S. employees).

• Full scope of the corporate HR functions/activities including; recruiting/staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, job descriptions, training and development, ADP payroll, unemployment, immigration administration, legal and ERISA compliance.

• Effectively demonstrated the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.

• Author of company handbook; developed policies and procedures.

• Gathered data for 5500 filings for the health and welfare plan, one non-union 401k plan, three union 401k plans and one union defined benefit plan. Successfully terminated two of the 401k plans prior to closure.

• Responsible for the design and oversight of annual benefit renewal process for the U.S. operations.

• Transition responsibilities included; responding to due diligence requests, led the closure of five locations, including the corporate office. Family owned engineering services company providing design services to the automotive industry, approximately 160 employees.

• Designed and developed an employee handbook and policies for FMLA and COBRA.

ITT AUTOMOTIVE, Auburn Hills, MI 1994 - 1998

Tier 1 global automotive supplier of various components. ITT had four major automotive business units each with many plants throughout the world.

Human Resource Manager-Brake & Chassis/Fluid Handling Groups 1995 - 1998

• With the assistance of two direct reports, full HR generalist responsibilities for 420 business unit employees including; employee relations, organizational development, salary administration, compensation and benefit administration, payroll (PeopleSoft), HR policy interpretation, annual performance reviews, recruitment, relocation, tuition reimbursement, job evaluations, prepare position descriptions, coordinate employee training and development to ensure QS9000 certification is retained, EEO, AAP, exit interviews, preparation of termination packages and vested pension benefit data.

• Participation with an HR team to develop the headquarters Employee Handbook and the Employee Performance Development System (EPDS).

• Successful rollout of the annual EPDS with 100% participation for the Brakes and Fluid Handling Divisions.

• Presentation of new 401k plan to 1200 corporate employees. Held train the trainer workshops for divisional HR representatives for roll-out to their respective employees.

• Prepared job descriptions and assigned appropriate pay grades for new positions within business unit.

Benefits Administration Manager – ITT Headquarters 1994 -1995

• Supervise three direct reports, responsible for all benefit related matters for the 1,200 employees located in the Auburn Hills facility and provided oversight and guidance to all 38 plants in North America (12,000 employees).

• Author of comprehensive benefit administration manual for plant HR personnel.

• Served as internal consultant to plant management in all matters related to salaried benefits.

• Additional responsibilities included, annual benefit enrollment, premium reconciliation, administration of 401k plan, administration of pension plan (prepare pension estimates, vested benefit paperwork, counsel retirees), life and disability plans, new hire orientations and termination packages, company wellness programs, and QDROs.

• Development of salaried short-term disability and FMLA policy and procedure.

SIEMENS AUTOMOTIVE, Auburn Hills, MI 1989 – 1994

North American Automotive Headquarters, Tier 1 supplier for a global organization with locations worldwide and over 20,000 employees.

Human Resource Manager

• Key contributor in start up of the headquarters, which was a newly acquired business unit from Bendix/Honeywell with 130 headquarters personnel. Instrumental in the design and staffing of the headquarters organization.

• Managed the HR strategy to include recruitment, employee relations, salary planning, evaluations, job descriptions, oversee payroll processing, reduction-in-force packages.

• Successfully moved the payroll processing from an in-house payroll at Bendix to Ceridian payroll and worked with an IS team to implemented PeopleSoft HRIS.

• Implemented cafeteria benefits for the headquarters site, initially as phone-in annual enrollment and later via computer access.

• International Administration – Coordinated and led the strategic planning process for all International Assignments and expatriates, which included preparation of expatriate contracts, calculation of foreign service premiums, hypothetical withholdings, annual worldwide income summaries, equalizations, monthly expatriate payroll, benefits, liaison with public accounting firm to prepare foreign and US tax returns. Coordination with HR at overseas location for relocation of expatriate to and from foreign location. Obtain L-1 visas for employees relocating from Canada. Assist attorney with green card applications.

• Fleet Administration - Researched and implemented the company vehicle leasing program (executive/sales vehicles), developed the company policies and driver manual, calculation of imputed income, ensure that vehicles were properly licensed.
