GENERAL WORK DUTIES

• Assemble customer art for press which involved:

Pre-flighting customer supplied electronic art to make sure all required files, fonts and images are supplied in an acceptable format. If the art has screens and solids of the same colour I recommend splitting them into 2 colours.

• Completion of Artwork:

Check artwork specifications for size, colour, print position, barcode; corner radius to make sure artwork fits in label size; adequate bleed around dyeline, halftones, typos, inserting key-lines around type that knockout of images if required, colour correcting images to match customer colour standard/target.

• Customer Approved Art:

Prepare artwork for press which involved trapping colours, step and repeat, pattern number, distortion, check to make sure the registration marks fit within the width of the stock being used. If the job had halftones and images a cromalin (high resolution press match proof) was made to make sure it matched the customer colour standard/target.

ACHIEVEMENTS AT METRO LABEL CO. LTD.

I am proudly responsible for being part of the growth of Metro Label Co. Ltd. over the past 11 years. Some of the labels I worked on in the past have won Metro Label awards which have contributed to its growth.

I have always shown kindness and respect to all staff of Metro Label which has made it very easy to work as a team with all departments.

ACHIEVEMENTS AT CCL LABEL

With my experience at Metro Label, in the “automated” ESKO GRAPHICS workflow, I was able to share my knowledge and expertise with CCL Toronto to automate the ESKO GRAPHICS workflow, by extracting information from the database to step and distort the art and send to plate by launching a ticket assigned for the task. CCL Toronto was the first branch among all CCL’s branches worldwide (approximately 45 branches) to use the “automated” ESKO GRAPHICS workflow. I was assigned to write step-by-step workflow procedures. I was also sent to HP in Boston for a week, to train on the front-end for the Indigo press and later trained to use Kaleidoscope (colour management software).

ACHIEVEMENTS AT DECO LABEL AND TAGS

I fixed the ESKO GRAPHICS workflow in the first 3 days of working at DECO. For 2 years they had major issues with plate mounting due to improper marks on the plates that caused registration problems. I was able to fix the problem. The Quality Manager commended me on my achievement.

Completed 2 years of College studying Commerce

I have had training on Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Quark XPress.
