I am currently responsible for all aspects of human resources including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, all employee benefits, employee relations, development of policies, position descriptions and performance evaluations, and new employee orientation; fiscal/budget development and management for 9 federal grants and 1 state grant totaling $3 million annually; surplus/disposal management; records management including medical documentation; telecommunications, physical operations/office lease management, and purchasing and procurement (experience working in the Commonwealth’s eVA system); in addition to monitoring and maintaining the agency’s Microsoft Windows 2003 Small Business Server and troubleshooting all software, hardware and peripherals issues. Work closely with end users in effectively maintaining desktop PCs and printers as well as provide informal training in the use of software applications. I am currently taking a self-study course to become a Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician.

Oversees professional support to the Executive Director, Policy Director, Managing Attorneys and other agency staff by responding to incoming correspondence, and researching and analyzing data to ensure that responses, reports and presentations are prepared in accordance with State/Office policies and procedures, and to ensure the Office’s responsiveness to deadlines. Analyzes, interprets and develops state and agency administrative directives and policies to ensure compliance with established guidelines. Manages the daily business operations of the Office including Central Office and two field offices, and serves as the primary point of responsibility for administrative matters; personnel management including recruitment, hiring, benefits, employee relations, development of policies, position descriptions and performance evaluations; fiscal/budget development and management for 9 federal grants and 1 state grant totaling $3 million annually; computer/LAN management including troubleshooting software/hardware problems; assets inventory, recycling and surplus/disposal management; records management including medical documentation; travel/meeting logistics; telecommunications, physical operations/office lease management, and purchasing and procurement (experience working in the Commonwealth’s eVA system). Managed the daily operations of the Assistant Commissioner’s Office, and served as primary point of contact for administrative matters. Applied and interpreted applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures in handling and administering program matters/actions. Provided professional support to the Assistant Commissioner by conducting research, analyzing data, and preparing reports and presentations. Reviewed, prioritized and handled correspondence received in the Assistant Commissioner’s Office, and assigned and followed up on tasks/projects given to the Assistant Commissioner’s Executive Team. Provided administrative support to the Legal Services Administrator, and provided on-going guidance to Division program and legal support staff.

Served as executive secretary to the Assistant Director and Budget Manager. Assisted with researching, compiling and typing biennial department budget as well as material prepared for the Department of Planning and Budget. Received and reviewed Federal material for impact on department and distributed to appropriate staff for action/review. Arranged travel reservations for the department’s central office of more than 250 employees.
