BAE Systems Inc., 2007 – 2011

Material Supervisor/Senior Material Planner – Material Department

•While a Supervisor, lead a 17 Material Control Specialist (MCS) 3rd shift and a 45 MCS 1st shift responsible for receiving, storing, picking and replenishing of military hardware used in wheeled and tracked combat vehicles for the US Army, Marines and other Allies.

•Designed and supervised the work stations and warehouse layout for the Mine Resistant All Terrain Vehicle (MRAP). This vehicle went from one per week to 8 vehicles a day within five months.

•Pioneered the creation of a part “Supermarket” which provides Lean practices to the Bradley Vehicle production lines. This allowed rapid mobile stocking of parts thru Bins and Kanban cards to regulate the quantities. This participant received BAE System’s Chairman Award Bronze for this milestone.

•When a Planner, created over 53 universal MCS work Instructions. This instructor has taught over 320 classes within 3 years. Evolving the paper instructions into a web site gave the MCS greater availability to access and print work instructions at any time. An Excel training matrix was developed to insure MCS certification and cross training.

Bulova Technology Inc., 2006 - 2007

Material Supervisor – Shipping and Receiving Departments

•Provided Leadership to a 1st shift crew responsible for receiving and shipping of PCB circuit boards.

•Designed and blueprinted a new stockroom area in order to centralize all stockroom parts.

Lear Corporation, 2003 - 2006

Team Leader – Production Departments

•Monitored and lead a 37 employee 2nd shift crew responsible for manufacturing different grades of carpet.

•Elected Chairman of the Lear’s Ergonomic Team for two years.

•Cross managed in four out of five departments (Tufting, Nonwoven, Back treating and Molding).

Woodstream Corporation, 1999 - 2003

Manufacturing/Shipping Supervisor – Material and Manufacturing Departments

•While in Manufacturing, managed a 20 man 3rd shift crew responsible for producing cage and mouse traps.

•Increased piece work efficiency by 10% by repairing and transforming 7 floor computers with a database that tracks production to meet the company’s bonus goals.

•While in Shipping, lead and trained a three shift crew responsible for distribution of all finished products.

•Shattered 12 shipping records within two years. Almost doubled distribution dollars from $300K to $550K a day through a prototype barcode scanning program and flex shift scheduling.

Chromalloy Corporation, 1997 - 1999

Manufacturing Supervisor – Manufacturing Department

•Supervised a 120 employee 2nd and 3rd shift crew responsible for all grinding and manufacturing processing of blades used in jet engines.

•Turned a new 2nd shift to a 90% efficiency and a 10% deviation rate within four months.

Coyne Textile Services, 1991 - 1997

Production/District Manager – Production and Service Departments

•Hired, trained and lead a 45 employee production plant responsible for providing service goods in four Eastern States.

•Saved over $240,000 dollars in three years on labor costs by developing flex schedules.

•Turned the efficiency rating of the plant from 12th out of 14 plants to 1st within six months after assuming the role of Plant Manager.

•Pioneered computer software by developing spreadsheets on employee efficiency, production standards and chemical usage.

United States Navy 1985 - 2007

Fire Control man – 2nd Class Petty Officer (Retired)

•Managed a five man crew responsible for the operability and maintenance of NATO SeaSparrow Guided Missile System while serving onboard the USS Nimitz (CVN-68).

•Troubleshot and determined 80% of electronic failures and performed 90% of scheduled maintenance of NATO SeaSparrow Guided Missile System #1.

•Updated and secured over 140 division personnel records onboard the USS Nimitz. As a collateral duty, this Petty Officer created and modified queries on a Q&A Database with no formal training.

•As a temporary duty assignment, lead a 30 man restoration crew responsible for the construction of over 20,000 berthing units completed 8 weeks ahead of schedule.

•USS Nimitz milestone: The first 3rd class petty officer to be in charge of an 18 member Master-at-Arms (Naval Security Force) while on temporary duty assignment.

•Mobilized to Naples, Italy in 1991 for Security and Anti-Terrorism training.

•Mobilized to Kuwait in 2005 for Customs and Anti-Terrorism training.
