M.Sc. PROJECT:
Project Title: Evaluating new Biomarkers
Instead of running a long clinical study, say for cancer, and observing different mortality levels in different treatment groups, now it is possible to assess a new treatment using a biomarker which predicts mortality but can be measured earlier in less sick patients through Surrogate Endpoints. This project aims to investigate a perfect surrogate endpoint which can be replaced by true or final endpoints in the evaluation of experimental treatment.
