INTRODUCTION

Execute the field welding inspection, surveillance and Quality Control activities on site, collecting the relevant objective proofs, ensuring that all welding operations are executed in accordance with all relevant Codes of Practices and Company specifications

As an Inspector for 6 years, having experience mainly in;

• Executing the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction /installation activities on site.

• Issuing the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, write and send to Quality Control-QC Supervisor non- conformances reports, verifying conformity of the work to specified Quality Requirements and ensuring that the inspections and controls are carried out and documented in accordance with the Quality Manual/ requirements.

• Controlling welding parameters and consumables during installation/construction activities, supervising welding operations

• Controlling procedures and welders qualifications.

• Check and record pipe sequence.

• Ensuring that all installed pipe/fittings are to the correct specification and that the material is in accordance with the specified Material Traceability requirements.

• Verifying collaboration/linearity.

• Coordinating Non Destructive Test-NDT inspection.

• Handling all welding technical queries and investigating

• Ensure that all Welding, Heat Treatment, any hardness testing, Inspection and Non-destructive testing are in compliance with the relevant codes and specifications.

• Orderly collecting and managing/check documents certifying tests, controls and inspections documents, ensuring that all welding and testing related records form a complete package and reflect the ‘As Built’.

• Ensuring the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan by Construction Contractor.

• Examining visually work in progress and effectivly supervising repair procedures.

• Reviews welding requirements for field erected structures, vessels,tanks, boilers and other process plants.

• Reviewing and preparation of Welding procedure specifications (As per ASME Sec IX – API 1104 and project specification.) as well as the qualifications and mechanical tests.

• Material receiving inspection.

• Welder Qualification & performance evaluation.

• Witnessing the procedure qualification tests.

• Preparation & monitoring of weld sequences for cryogenic services.

• Witnessing destructive and non-destructive tests.

• Establishing / reviewing the technique sheets for radiography.

• Witnessing the PWHT, hardness tests & reviewing the charts.

• Documentation of all related works.

• Familiar with international standards and codes ASTM, ASME, Sec. V and Sec. IX, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4,ASME B 31.9,AWS D1.1, AWS B2.1, API 5L, API 650, API 1104 etc.

Among the most crucial and significant duties are being responsible for preparation and qualification of Welding Procedure Specifications, witnessing the mechanical, destructive and non-destructive tests and heat treatment activities as well as organizing and maintaining the related documentation.

As to the daily routine; responsible for carrying out all welding and NDT related inspections at site, maintaining cooperation and coordination with construction department, and establishing the first hand communication with the NDT and welding personnel. Also responsible for the determination of NDT requirements as per codes and in accordance with project specifications and coordinating the NDT crews, providing daily NDT requests with all the necessary details.

As being an attendee and aide for certification system for project and procurement activities in cooperation with procurement and engineering departments as well, ensuring valid certification of permanent project materials and consumables, and attending on-receive material inspections are under care.
