Professional Experience
Sep 6, 2011 to present, City of LaVergne (LaVergne, TN), Public Works Director
* Responsible for maintenance of the city's infrastructure including streets, water distribution system, sewer collection system and ~165 fleet vehicles
* Responsible for growth planning, capital upgrade and city/county/state/federal compliance of all city infrastructure
* Lead the day-to-day efforts of ~35 operators, mechanics and admin personnel in a two-shift and on-call reactive (primarily) maintenance environment
* Responsible for ~$12MM total operating budget at Public Works

* Prepare and present complex reports which convey operational performance and challenges to senior business leaders - reports include manufacturing summaries, elements of overhead, total cost of quality/cost of failure, productivity analysis and some P&L experience

* Work closely with Technical Services groups - R&D, Technical Services Management and Formulation Chemists - to insure seamless new product development transition from bench to pilot and ultimately to large scale production
* Formulate daily, weekly and monthly reports which incorporate a variety of operational data streams - perform subsequent analysis such as raw material usages versus standard and inventory reconciliation, customer order fulfillment/feedback/complaints, product quality assessments, corrective action investigations, production volumes and variances to budget across all categories of financial and operational input
* Work closely with functional operations groups to demand plan via SAP/R3 interfaces
* Conduct and assist in all personnel evaluations from quarterly/annual employee appraisals to hiring, training, reprimands and terminations via formal company policy procedure - subsequently formulate development plans if/when gaps in performance and/or competence are determined
* Maintain internal 5-S compliance and strive for ISO9000 best practice approach to manufacturing specialty chemicals for a variety of global customers
