Summary

I have worked as a nurse for the last 23 years. I have worked bedside for the most of my career. In 2001 my career took a turn into management at which time I pursued a bachelor degree in business administration. I have been the director and administrator on and off of Maxim Healthcare Services for the last 2.5 years.

Work History

2008-present Administrator/Director of Clinical Services, Maxim Healthcare Services

I oversee the operations of the office. I hire and terminate. I determine through referrals if the client is appropriate to be on services. I oversee putting the advisory board together and discuss the issues that are within the office. I oversee 120 staff members and 70 clients at this time. I do admissions, discharge, submit reports to state via OASIS, and sit with state auditors as they audit the office. I regulate the office to make sure that it is running under the federal, state, and local regulations.

2008-2008 Case Manager, Heartland Home and Hospice

I was responsible for being on call when directed. I opened cases and discharged them, through OASIS. I performed visits to do wound care, IV teaching and infusion if needed, Coumadin testing, and any other skilled aspect that the client would need.

2007-2008 Unit Manager, Allis Care Center

Overseen a 64 bed unit. Admit and discharged patients. Care conferences weekly. Staff education and evaluations. Maintained regulations of federal, state and local. Worked with staff, doctors and social workers. Medicare weekly meetings, if not daily. Assess and monitor wounds. Delegate duties as needed. On call.

2006-2007 Administrator/Director of Clinical Services, Maxim Healthcare Services

Overseen patients at their homes or facilities during the dying process. Assisted families in accepting and understanding of the dying process. Delegating duties for HHA’s and LPN’s. Admissions, deaths, and crisis care. Worked with doctors, chaplains, social workers to maintain the comfort of the patient. Weekly meetings to keep every one updated on what was happening with the patients. Recertifications.

2005-2005 Unit Manager, Dove Healthcare

Overseen a 28 bed Medicare unit. Worked closely with doctors, social workers, rehab department and outside agencies. Participated in meetings: behavioral management, Medicare meetings, care conferences. Delegated duties to LPN’s and aides. Interviewed. Teaching when needed.

Overseen a 60 bed unit. Worked closely with the Director of Nursing. Assisted and ran weekly care conference. Worked loosely with doctors, nurses, social workers. Participated in behavior management meetings. Hired, evaluated, as needed and terminated when needed. Assisted and delegated as needed. Monitored wounds, and participated in Eagle Room/Quallity of Life programs. Taught Circle of Care program as needed. Supervised LPN’s, HHA’s and scheduler. Set up in servicing. Opened and closed private duty cases. Coordinated cares with staff and the doctors. Assisted the DON. Taught classes for Home Health Aide’s. Set up conferences. Hired and terminated.

Coordinate cares with doctors, social workers, and other outside agencies. Developed and implemented the nurse case management program at one of the affiliated community based clinics, educated clients, staff members about labs, medications, and side effects of medications and the compliance with regiment.
