As a department supervisor my responsibilities include but are not limited to; Data research for the compiling and implementation of Policies and Procedures for the clinical laboratory and the information needed to maintain quality assurance. Acquisition of quantitative/qualitative test data and the analysis of the acquired data for medical treatment management. I am knowledgeable in the operation of the AS400 information communications system. My skills include correlation analysis and documentation for necessary reagents, controls and equipment changes. I am educated and trained in the use of Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) as well as other safety measures to ensure a safe work environment. I am familiar with the quality control and compliance with national laboratory certifying and accrediting organizations. Confident in my ability to select appropriate specimen testing, reagents and controls for precise laboratory analysis. Actively involved in the training and assessment of new employee competencies. My duties as a general technologist also includes the acquisition of quantitative and qualitative laboratory test data and the analysis of chemistry, hematology, serology, coagulation and microbiology applications for medical care. The pre and post analytical phases of specialty laboratory testing completed at reference facilities. The technical ability to operate, troubleshoot and calibrate test analyzers used for laboratory testing. Decontamination of laboratory instruments and work surfaces. Thorough in the reporting of communicable diseases to the appropriate government organizations and hospital authorities. Maintain a cognitive understanding of physiological concepts regarding formulated calculations and associated data for health management. Microscopic review of body fluids for the identification of various cells and pathogenic bacteria. Processing and testing of American Proficiency specimens for quality assurance. Packaging and distribution of body fluids and hazardous materials to outside facilities. I also serve as an educational mentor for students from Malvern High School and various community colleges. Skilled in the application of phlebotomy techniques for venipuncture and DOT/ Non-DOT chain of custody drug screening.
