ESI program: - ESI program means Education Stabilization initiative .ESI program award grants for schools, Communities and ministry of Education to help stabilize the communities in Afghanistan.
BESST / ESI Grant Program was established to meet the specific challenges before the Education Stabilization Initiative. BESST /ESI customize a grants making program that address the unique needs of the education system operating throughout the Eastern and Southern Provinces of Afghanistan. Under this Grant Program BESST / ESI fund Quick Impact Grants (QIGs), and Service Delivery Grants
Regional Program Manager ( south eastern region 6 provinces )
I was reporting to the Chief of Party (DCOP), the Regional program Manager (RPM). I was responsible for implementation, managing and reporting on all program activities in the assigned region. I serve as the prime point of contact with the Ministry of Education in the region .I was also responsible for coordinating with other partners including local, international organizations, NGOs, USAID FPO (Field Program Officer) and other Afghan government partners.
Achievements
• Successful Completion of 20 ESI grant projects in Ghazni province according to USAID plan and policy.
• Successful Completion of 30 ESI grant projects in 5 South Eastern region provinces which wear under my supervision according to USAID plan and policy.
• Utilizing about 2 Million US dollars which was funded by USAID to ESI program for the completion of ESI grant projects.
• The worth is mentionable that the Security conditions are very poor in South Eastern region provinces but on my own program implementation policy we ended ESI program very successfully without losing or arresting any staff member in entire region.
Responsibilities:
• Supervision of 30 personnel in various provinces.
• Assist provincial offices staff to prepare grant ideas and how to inter to the communities for preparation of grant Ideas.
• Review all ESI program grant Ideas for final version before sending to Kabul office.
• Review all ESI program grant Applications for final version before sending to Kabul.
• Assisting with approval and management of community grants by ensuring that required specifications are consistently provided in order to operate a cost-effective program-related procurement.
• Working with provincial and district-based staff to develop detailed work plans and monitoring and reporting and coordinating with Kabul office.
• Coordinating grant activities with national, regional and local government staff, with community leaders and with other partner organizations
• Overseeing finance staff and ensures all expenditures are allowable and comply with appropriate USAID Procedures and requirements.
• Supporting development and delivery of a staff training and development program, and advising BESST management regarding program and staff development
• Support and advise Regional Office staffs and field staff on administrative policies and procedures
• Assign work to employees and train employees in work procedures and methods.

• Supervising of all NSP activities in seven undercover districts
• Establishing strategy to implement the NSP in seven under cover district to implement the program & to keep the staff safe
• Leading development/implementation of systematic, participatory approach to NSP technical programming
• Managing of 120 NSP staff in 7 districts including provincial office.
• Managed 600000 US Dollars of program budget in this time of period
• Established 150 CDCs in 7 undercover districts.
• Facilitating sector strategic planning and decision-making
• Ensure integration of NSP technical and non-technical programming (process-and Project- related).
• Representing the program and the organization to provincial leaders, shuras, Mullahs and community councils
• Monitor technical processes and activities, ensuring quality control and compliance with relevant standards.
