Properties Assistant June ** – mid July 09

Lake George Opera│Saratoga Springs, NY

Assisted the properties master in the purchasing, construction, organization, transportation, and maintenance of props and furniture set pieces for two operas during the 2009 Lake George Opera summer season. Responsibilities also included managing budgets, attending production meetings, and the re-organization and re-location of the company’s stock props. Also worked individually on prop creation and painting as to increase production rate and meet deadlines.

Charge Scenic Artist May 08 – mid Aug 08

Wellfleet Harbor Actor’s Theater│Wellfleet, MA

In charge of painting the sets for the 2008 Wellfleet Harbor Actor’s Theater summer shows at multiple venues. Additionally responsible for the purchasing and maintenance of all paints and painting supplies for the company, keeping an updated inventory throughout the season. Position also included instructing and supervising interns on scenic painting techniques and proper tool maintenance. Worked alongside other company members and formed strong working relationships and friendships with designers, director’s, and co-workers.

Student Employee (Dining Services, Scene Shop) Sept 05 – May 09

Skidmore College │Saratoga Springs, NY

Dining Services (Sept 05 – May 06) Worked as a student employee at the Dining Hall on campus. Responsibilities included, but were not limited to, unloading, washing, and cutting produce for bulk storage, food preparation for head chefs, fulfilling custom deli sandwich orders, bussing and cleaning dining hall tables and countertops, and dishwashing. Received instruction for proper knife handling, kitchen safety, sanitation, and general food service etiquette.

Scene Shop (Sept 06 – May 09) Worked as a carpenter and scenic artist at Skidmore’s JKB and Blackbox Theaters. Worked on a crew of several student workers to construct, finish, and install 4 sets per academic year. Was responsible for safely and effectively using heavy shop equipment, various saws, and pneumatic tools to accurately build each design put forth by the set designer. Position also required regular shop maintenance, organizing, and cleaning. Eventually was given responsibility of supervising and instructing underclassmen co-workers, ensuring their safety, accuracy, and comfort.
