Analytics Lead:

Integral part of R&D and BI departments of the client( a leading Commercial Insurance company), responsible for all new analyses and requirements, performing hands on modeling and data management as well as coordinating with the team offshore.

• On going analysis to measure impact of new generation pricing models. Disruption Analysis to quantify pricing variations due to the new model and to test implementation on real time quotes.

• On going analysis to standardize pricing factors of parent company and a newly acquired insurance company. Providing both Actuarial and Data Management Support to integrate the two companies.

• Measured impact of involvement of underwriters in the quote approval process. Identify major underwriting rules that fire and how underwriters manipulate data to get quote approved.

Senior Analyst:

Built predictive models, performed Cost Benefit Analyses and provided ongoing support to Marketing Campaigns at client site.

. Customer Life Time Value creation and implementation. Built and implemented Discrete Time Logistic Model to predict customer lifetime and lifetime value(revenue) of new business customers. Worked with business teams to make the model ‘actionable’ and automated LTV generation. Implemetation in direct marketing increased IRR by 14%.

. Built logistic model for Marketing Reponse and performed target selection. Compared new model performance with old model by decile. New model reduced marketing cost by 20%.

. Designed and built an Excel-SAS based pricing simulator engine. Predicts and simulates impact of pricing changes on revenue and book size. Assists product managers in deciding rating changes. Interactive graphics and VB Macro functionalities help visualize what-if-scenarios.

. Cost Benefit Analysis and logistic-linear models for home inspection by external agents. The combined models reduced cost of inspection by 14%, reducing the number of homes to be inspected before policy and premium are approved.

. Developed approximate Fuzzy Logic Deduping method to identify customers who were re-quoted multiple times by agents. Used fields like Name and Address to match customers and cluster quotes. Common errors and variations in names and addresses were accounted for.

. Designed and maintained huge SAS databases for quotes and endorsements. Original databases in DB2 were FTP’ed as text files and imported into SAS. Weekly maintenance and refresh of these databases, validation and pre-designed report generation. Space saving techniques in SAS were applied reduced usage by 35%.
