The agency provides insurance services to hundreds of employers seeking to provide benefits to employees & thousands of employers/entities seeking insurance with regard to commercial assets, WC, owner’s & officer’s liability, & more.

Beaver Dam Community Hospital - Beaver Dam, Wisconsin 9/01 to 12/02

Homemaker & Independent HR Consultant 2/00 to 9/01
• Resigned & became a stay-at-home mother while my husband started his own company.
• Periodically provided guidance to U.S. Controls Corporation, my previous employer, on a paid consulting basis.
U.S. Controls Corporation - New Berlin, Wisconsin 9/96 to 2/00
Director of Human Resources
Reason for leaving - resigned to be a stay-at-home mother while my husband started his own company
• When I joined the organization in 1996, employment turnover (at 156%) was one of the organization’s primary concerns. Between 1996 & 2000, the company grew between 15-20% annually in a tight labor market. During my employment, I successfully recruited the staff needed to sustain the growth & developed the policies, procedures, training programs & supervisory staff needed to lower the turnover rate to a workable level (under 20%).
• As a member of the company’s Strategic Planning Committee, I participated in establishing the organization’s annual and future goals (sales, marketing, production, budgetary, etc.), then created & executed departmental strategies & action plans while meeting established timelines.
• Team contributor to the company’s attainment of ISO 9001 certification by developing the required training & job competency procedures & documentation systems.
• The company’s sole owner & founder died in 1997; the company was acquired by Ark-Les Corporation in 1998. I effectively managed the employee relations efforts that resulted in a positive ownership transition.
Waukesha Cutting Tools, Inc. - Waukesha, Wisconsin 2/95 to 9/96
Human Resources Manager
Reason for leaving - The company was experiencing financial difficulties (it changed hands within a short time after I left); resigned after obtaining a position with more security, responsibility & increased compensation.
• As the department head, I was responsible for all areas of human resources: labor agreement interpretation & grievance mitigation, benefits, payroll, OSHA compliance, safety, recruitment, FMLA, COBRA & WI Continuation, etc. Introduced and set-up the company’s first Flex Plan (Section 125 Plan).
• During my employment, I was chosen as one of 3 management staff appointed to the company’s team of labor agreement bargaining table negotiators.
Heritage Wafers, Ltd., Div. of Ripon Foods - Ripon, Wisconsin (facility now closed) 7/89 to 2/95
Human Resources Director
Reason for leaving - resigned after seeking a position in the Milwaukee area for personal reasons (relocation)
• The company tripled in size in terms of both sales & employment during my employment. The leadership I provided was strategic to orderly growth of the organization.
• Introduced quality circles & self-directed work teams & worked closely with the Director of Engineering to establish new “work cell” production processes. Established the following company programs which were non-existent & required: FMLA, WI Continuation & COBRA, Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, Lock-out Tag-out, & more.
• When the company was unable to secure affordable medical coverage for its employees through a fully insured contract due to medical underwriting problems, I established a self-insured medical plan for a time until HMOs were available in the Fox Valley area.
• Led a new 401(k)/Profit Sharing Plan investment management firm search when asset returns became unacceptable.
• Directly supervised the Production Superintendent (responsible for production efficiencies and on-time shipments with over 240 indirect reports - production staff) in addition to an HR department of 3.
KSG Industries, Inc. - Marinette, Wisconsin (Contact Karl Schmidt Unisia, Inc.) 1 /89 to 7/89
Employee Programs Manager
Reason for leaving - When a merger was announced, my position was eliminated & I was offered a position in Accounting. I sought a better career opportunity & resigned.
Capitol Fixture & Woodworking Group - Peshtigo, Wisconsin 9 /85 to 1/89
Customer Service Manager from 3/87 to 1/89
Personnel Supervisor from 9/85 to 3/87 (department of one reporting to the GM)
Reason for leaving – An ownership change in early 1987 led to a complete top management overturn. In 1988, the facility (then owned by Ark-Les Corp.) experienced a hostile takeover attempt. I decided to look for other employment with the hope that it offered more employment security; resigned for another career opportunity.
