Overall worked with multiple technical and business teams across the globe to write custom solutions – frequently worked with testing resources and development teams in India and China.

Dell Manufacturing - Original Design Manufacturer (ODM)

Computer systems built overseas on behalf of Dell

 Helped sell vision of an SOA design leveraging BPEL orchestration to fulfill computer shipments from ODMs

 Mostly XML message-based system leveraging MQ Series and message transformations along with B2B integration with vendors. This was well suited for an off-the-shelf product, which we adopted.

Dell Image Management

Customer ability to create a custom software image for their machines

 Re-wrote web site for customers to manage software images.

 Re-wrote core business logic for image manifest

Dell Manufacturing – Cimplicity Integration Development Lead

Integrated factory lines with Dell internal systems.

 Designed, developed, deployed, and supported integration for all Dell Manufacturing facilities worldwide.

 Led team of developers and worked closely with Microsoft on Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) project to expose backend systems as services that Cimplicity could interact with.

 Provided a common framework for communication for CIMPLICITY, abstracting details of back-end systems away from client to make factories appear more uniform.

Dell Online – Web Services

 Created web services for several online subsystems, including address verification, sales tax, eco tax, and shipping calculator.

 Enhanced Dell’s Customer Profile service, which allows simple retail customers as well as complex customer associations with companies, etc.

 Integrated several payment services, including American Express Gift Cards, PayPal, VerifiedByVisa, and MasterCard SecureCode.

Dell Web Hosting – Provisioning

 Lead effort to bring Dell’s Web Hosting product to market

 Created new web site to allow for customer to sign-up for service and provision a new account

Dell Online – Online Order Management System

 Wrote secure web site for sales reps and order entry personnel to track orders that could not be automatically placed for fulfillment.

 Integrated with Dell’s Order Management System to greatly reduce manual entry

Dell Online – Consumer, Small Business, and Premier Portal

 Developed and implemented a full replacement for Dell Online’s computer sales

 Wrote secure website more suited for corporate customers

 Custom pricing based on “catalog”
