DETECTIVE
Investigate major crimes while enforcing federal, state and municipal laws, codes and ordinances. Provide technical assistance with homicides, sudden deaths, sexual assaults, robberies, burglaries, narcotics, fraud, and other offenses. Analyze crime scenes to gather physical evidence. Identify and take statements from witnesses, victims, and suspects. Assist in case preparation for court; prepare case summaries and inform prosecuting authorities of the body of evidence available. Arrange technical assistance from specialists in the areas of identification, ballistics, laboratory analysis, and toxicology.
