China Institute in America, New York, NY 7/08-5/09
Teach China Program Associate. Helped plan, coordinate and administer various educational initiatives for Teach China’s K-12 professional development program. Planned and co-lead group educational tours of China. Worked as a liaison with the New York Board of Education After School Professional Development Program. Assisted in outreach efforts, grant applications, and grant reporting.
Asian American Lead, Washington DC June 2007-August 2007
Teacher Assistant and Intern. Co-taught daily kindergarten class to children of Chinese immigrant families living in the DC area. Created a curriculum with the head teacher to help students adjust to the United States public school system. Worked one on one with children who only spoke Mandarin. Used Mandarin to write important documents for the program and to communicate with students’ families.
GYPA Student Global Ambassadors: Ugandan Immersion, Kampala, Uganda June 2006
Delegate and Volunteer. Traveled throughout Uganda and met with Ugandan social entrepreneurs, university students, and local and international NGOs to explore possible development solutions for Uganda. The conference focused on three core issues: HIV/AIDS, income generating activities including microfinance, and conflict mitigation/post-conflict issues centered on Northern Uganda.

Marketing and Research Intern. Worked with Beijing United Hospital’s marketing team to research potential new locations for company expansion in China. Independently designed a marketing plan to open a new international hospital in Shenzhen, China.
