Professional Experience
I am a citizen of the United States and was employed as an Agriscience teacher for 32 years in Louisiana. Opened a new Agriculture Department from the ground up at Tioga High School in Rapides Parish from 1975 to 1979. My supervisor was Mr. Phillip White who is now deceased and my employer was the Rapides Parish School Board in Alexandria, LA. Got many high school students involved in several Career Development Events and brought the FFA Chapter to a Gold Emblem Rating statewide. Transferred to Meaux High School in Vermilion Parish from December, 1979 until June, 1981. Responsible for involving several high school students in different FFA Career Development Events including a National Land Judging competition in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and an Area III FFA Sweepstakes award over several FFA Events. Transferred to Abbeville High School from June, 1981 until June, 1989. Responsible for qualifying an FFA Forestry team to compete in the National Tri-Forestry Event located in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Trained four Land Judging teams that competed in the National Land Judging Competition in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and brought the FFA Chapter to a Silver Emblem Rating for five years. Transferred to Erath High School from 1989 until 2007. Responsible for involving many high school students in several different FFA Career Development Events and was privileged to have the State FFA Secretary and the State FFA President as my students in 1992 and 1993. Trained four more FFA Land Judging Teams that qualified for Nationals in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and brought the Erath FFA Chapter to Silver Emblem Ratings for ten years. Responsible for supervising six student teachers over the years. Land Judging enables students to classify land according to its best use, be it farm land, pasture, or wood-lands. It is classified by using many factors such as soil texture, structure, slope of the land, amount of erosion, degree of runoff, and other factors. Agriscience involves extensive knowledge in Agronomy, Plant Science, Soil Science, Environmental Science, Animal Science, Leadership Skills, Welding, Electricity, Landscaping, Shop Safety, Hunter and Boating Safety, and Small Engines. I was responsible for running a Meats Lab where we would process beef, pork, or lamb carcasses for people in the community for 15 years. Also responsible for managing two greenhouses from which we produced and sold vegetable seedlings, house plants, hanging baskets, etc. to raise money for our Agriscience Department. Recently worked as an office manager and safety man for Pipeline Environmental Compression Industries LLC out of Scott, LA. from August 13, 2008 until August 15, 2009 when about 40 employees were laid off due to the economy and slow work availability. We worked usually 50 hours a week and my salary was $16.00 an hour plus truck pay and per diem. Responsible for keeping timesheets daily for twenty employees, daily logs on what equipment is being used at different job sites, all records and accident reports, and keeping track of equipment and supplies in the tool van. Also responsible for picking up supplies and equipment when needed and turning in a weekly safety report to a Safety Representative every Monday for the previous week. Projects completed include installing water coolers as a gas plant, a hot tap on a 16 inch pipeline, four meter stations and a 24 inch pipeline, and clearing out a right-of-way and laying down five miles of 16 inch pipe for Centerpoint Energy.

Responsible for trouble shooting and warranty work on lawn equipment from Lowes in Abbeville and Crowley, LA and Tractor Supply in Abbeville and Breaux Bridge, LA that include tractors, riding mowers, self-propelled mowers, push mowers, generators, pressure washers, tillers, blowers, shredders, log splitters, chainsaws, and weed eaters. I became a certified Briggs & Stratton Technician after attending an in-service in Milwaukee, WI in July, 2003.

I have a Plus 30 from ULL- Lafayette, LA, in May, 2006. I received an M.S. Degree in VAED (Vocational Agriculture Education) from LSU- Baton Rouge in May, 1980. I received my B. S. Degree in VAED from LSU- Baton Rouge in May, 1975. I graduated from E. Broussard High School- Abbeville, LA in May, 1971.
