• Defined a project charter for the re-design and implementation of a Management Accounting and Reporting System (MARS). This is a 15 year old legacy system which allocates the total cost of technology (approx. 33% of the total operating cost). This allocation or “Chargeback” to corporate lines of business is based on volume measures captured via 30 source interfaces. End user reporting is provided on a request basis. The current system is a COBOL based batch process which lacks data integrity and will not be supported beyond 12/31/2006. MARS will also be non-compliant to corporate policies and regulatory agency requirements after 12/31/06.

• Developed level 1 Process Maps defining the current process, components and process flow.

• Measured the data processing errors for computer time, computer storage and network transmission activity by sampling 3 months worth of data. We also measured end user requests for research and reporting.

• Analyzed the process and determined root causes using a Cause and Effect diagram and FMEA form. Also, analyzed data processing errors and calculated DPMO.

• Prioritized root causes as follows: Lack of Data Integrity, No Graphical User Interface, Inefficient batch processing and manual intervention.

• Ensured seamless transition of operations in the impacted teller training sites during the First and Union South Trust merger. Managed up-fit and build-out of the assigned impacted Training Sites and vendors.
