Components include power control modules, a/c controls, instrument clusters, switches, small motors, wiring, driver assistant systems, electronic locking and security systems, copper and lead.
• Led a cross functional team, from Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Supply and Purchasing, in a cost reduction initiative resulting in a 3 year savings of $161.8 Million.
• Implemented a global sourcing strategy that will net $27 million in savings in 2009 calendar year.
• Overachieved diversity sourcing goal by 175% helping Chrysler LLC receive the 2007 Diversity Supplier Corporate Award.
• Met or exceeded all 11 metrics included in the electrical internal balance scorecard.
• Instrumental in identifying, developing and mentoring 3 low cost country suppliers from China.
• Negotiated two long term agreements resulting in a 3 year savings of $14.3 million.
Interior Thermal Systems 2000 to 2006
Management of 5 buyers, 1 contract employee and 1 Behr America employee, in the procurement of Interior Plastics and Thermal System Components totaling $1.7 Billion in Annual Sales. Components include interior trim, consoles, air vents, ducts, small stampings, radiator fans, HVAC and engine cooling.
• Instrumental with developing and negotiating a supply agreement with BEHR for the divestiture of Dayton Thermal Products. Overachieved expected savings by $51.1 million. Received Executive Vice President Award for this accomplishment.
• Increased buying responsibility by $600 million and added 2 buyers with the addition of purchasing Engine Cooling Modules.
• Developed global commodity strategies with Mercedes-Benz on compressors, HVAC Systems and Engine Cooling Modules resulting in volume price reductions totaling $8.6 million.
• Utilized cost regression analysis and linear programming to help negotiate annual cost reductions for interior trim. Savings from 2003 thru 2006 were $97.3 million, $84.5 million, $43.3 million and $71.6 million respectively.
Exterior Components 1996 to 2000
Management of 5 buyers in procurement of Plastic Components totaling $400 Million. Components include fascias, ground effects, body panels, body side moldings, cowl screens, functional plastics, resins and metal moldings.
• Successfully implemented diversity supplier mentoring program between OEM/ ERIE, Decoma and Textron increasing Tier 2 business $13 million annually.
• Developed a Bubble Matrix to more effectively measure supplier’s technical and commercial annual performance. This rating tool is still in effect today.
• Received approval and implemented 5 Regional Strategies which eliminated 3 suppliers and commonized the Fascia/ Cladding sourcing initiative.
• Received special recognition for participation in the movement of tools and resourcing as a result of Gilreath’s plant fire. A supplier was identified and tooling was refurbished over a weekend and production was not effected.
