Maintenance Tech

Worked in both Computer Manufacturing and Computer Distribution centers; responded to trouble calls on machinery, diagnosed problems and repaired equipment as quickly as possible to minimize down time. Arrived early as a “pre-startup” technician to ensure good factory startup and support throughout the day. Worked with customers, managers, engineers and machinery representatives. Other duties: Helped develop and set up the Condition Based Monitoring System, used in the maintenance of equipment. This process uses ultra sound equipment to inspect bearings, motors/gear boxes, pulleys, etc., comparing current readings to previous in order to point out possible problems. This monitoring greatly reduced the Preventive Maintenance work done on equipment. Developed and installed modifications to equipment to improve safety, performance and maintenance ease. Monitored, repaired and maintained electrical and mechanical equipment. Wood Fabrication Setup

Set up, programmed and maintained Crossgroovers (automated machines that cut bundles of wood molding into different lengths and through the use of attached conveyers, passed the cut wood to back shooters, which join the frames); this work involved changing and configuring blades in accordance with the types of laminate and wood profiles to achieve the best cut possible; worked adjusting cutting tables rakes, step cylinders, counters and timers associated with the Crossgroovers.

Kept two to five of these machines operating during a shift as well as maintaining six back shooters per crossgroovers; used forklifts to move raw materials and unfinished products; worked with other setup people to perform "preventive maintenance" on equipment; kept the next shift informed of status of equipment and informed management of impending problems and needs.

Wood Assembly Setup

Set up and maintained conveyer belts, polywrap machines and Bennie tab guns (guns used to secure glass, face paper and backs to a frame). Job included ordering parts to maintain the equipment within the area; performing “PM’s” on equipment and adjusting and configuring polywrap machines to achieve the best “shrink wrap” around finished product.

Was recognized twice as “Employee of the Month” and twice was a member of “Team of the Month”.
