Resume:

Date: April **, ****

Dear Mr. /Ms.

Imagine, Invent, Innovate. Or be left behind. This modus operandi has been the driving force that has helped me

achieve a BSc. in Applied Science in Civil Engineering with a major in Environmental Engineering. Now I

am poised for the possibility of making a positive impact in the position of Environmental Engineer (Specialist)

with your company.

The key courses of my degree include municipal water treatment, geotechnical projects, subsurface

contamination, steel structural designs, costing, statistics and budgeting. I have actively and successfully

applied these in various environmental projects outlined in my attached resume.

These projects allowed me to work in teams and in partnership with local authorities to leverage biological,

technological and chemical strategies to address environmental issues, some of which involved bioremediation

technology, hydraulics, landfill designs, shoreline protection, chemical cleaning and software

applications. These experiences also sharpened my abilities in project management, teamwork, time

management and strategic planning.

Additionally, I have played an instrumental role in two group design initiatives achieving “First Place” in the

innovative civil design of a bridge with deflections of less than 2 centimetres and for the powerful, yet

inexpensive construction of a sling device, demonstrating my passion for innovation and imagination to find

cost-effective solutions.

Further proof of this was when I co-owned a company called Rockport Renovations, invigorating a mix of

structural and environmental engineering to address problems faced by landowners with limited budgets. It gave

me the satisfaction of using my knowledge to help others by successfully executing home improvements,

demolitions, renovations and property maintenance.

Environmental engineering is my passion. So I am excited by the possibility of harnessing this passion for the

benefit of your company. I will contact you in a few days to discuss how I can be of service to you. In the

meantime feel free to contact me at your convenience if you have any questions about the details in my

attached resume.

Thank you in advance for considering my application.

Sincerely,

Nasir Shir-Mohammadi

PROJECTS

Geotechnical A lab scale dam was designed through conceptual and software

aided design to help create a safe and directed water flow from one side of dam to

the opposite side. It required side slope design, porosity of material, and other

knowledge gained in course.

Bioremediation Employed investigative skills to find ways to remove polycilic

aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) from a contaminated site. Discovered a specific type

of grass which would be able to remove the by-products and examined the site’s

feasibility for use in bio-piles through cost estimations.

Landfill Design A full year project which included the site assessment, soil

sampling, use of different Geosynthetic liners, software aided leachate control

and providing different system to cap the site for a fictional city designed by

Professor.

Remediation Technology Demonstrated effective remediation technologies

required for different treatment process. Different contaminants require different

treatments, have different degrees of treatment success while each has it’s own

downfall.

Cement Stabilization A complete package provided on benefits, shortcomings, and

how it will help to control contaminants. Looking at cases for few different regions in
