Responsibility for managing the Information Technology group with an annual expense budget exceeding $2 million and an annual capital budget averaging $500,000. Featured accomplishments follow:

• Managed the team that designed, programmed, Implemented and enhanced a custom integrated ERP application including the web based front end. Staffed by seven application developers over an eight year period with a $500,000 budget.

• Implemented GreatPlains accounting application with a staff of two over a one year period with a budget of $200,000.

• Participated in the acquisition and systems integration of three logistics companies, an ocean freight forwarder, a trucking company and an international airline. These acquisitions occurred over a four year period resulting in a 300% increase in corporate revenues.

• Implemented 45 IBM blade virtualized servers using MS Windows and Linux operating systems interfaced to a virtualized IBM 3 TB SAN. The servers were installed over a five year period, the SAN within one year. The project was staffed by two network engineers with a capital budget exceeding $500,000.

• Configured and installed a 3 TB IBM SAN to house the corporate data warehouse. Migrated all application data using data mapping tools. This project included the installation of data mining tools.

• Designed the disaster recovery plan and populated a combined data center and disaster recovery site at a hurricane resistant colocation.

• Redesigned the wide area network to be high availability and fault tolerant with full security measures to the desktop work stations utilizing latest Cisco technology.

• Converted 40 remote satellite connected locations to fractional T1 and DSL technology to increase bandwidth, improve performance and reliability while reducing costs. This project was staffed by two engineers, spanned two years with a $175,000 budget.

• Ongoing roll out of Windows Vista, Windows 7 and MS Office upgrades to over 600 work stations and laptop computers. This project was ongoing over a three year period and staffed by network and helpdesk staff.

• Replaced all domestic telephone systems with IP based technology to reduce communications costs by 60% and improve quality of service. IP phones were also installed at all international locations to reduce in network communications costs.

• Planned, designed and implemented IBM’s WebSphere portal application including integration of all corporate applications using RAD, Java, C++, MS SQL Server and DB/2 database management.

• Converted Verizon MPLS circuits to VoIP/SIP Trunking to consolidate bandwidth at multiple locations reducing overall annual telecommunications costs by 30%. This project was completed in one year by three network staff with a $250,000 budget.
