WORK EXPERIENCE

 Core Programmer, Univ. of Houston Coll. of Optometry, Houston TX, September 2007 to present:

• Hofer Adaptive Optics Imaging System (HAOIS):

o Adaptive optics imaging system minimizes the aberrations in the wavefront of light used for capturing retinal images. It processes the output from wavefront sensor cameras and controls an adaptive mirror to correct the aberrations.

o Designed, developed and successfully deployed a windows application, HAOIS to automate the adaptive optics system and capture the retinal image with minimum aberrations in light.

o Designed the user interface and implemented COM interoperability module in Visual C# 2.0 to interact with the unmanaged C++ libraries of the cameras and mirror.

 Software Developer, Baker Hughes Inc., Houston TX, January 2008 to May 2008:

• UH-Geocoding:

o UH-Geocoding is a web based tool to validate, populate and graphically present latitude/longitude information of oil wells’ location in the legacy data maintained using MS Excel.

o Implemented a web application in ASP.NET 2.0 and C# 2.0 that interacts with Google Earth API to ‘geocode’ (tagging the oil well location information with correct lat./long. data) the existing data and plot it on Google Earth. Also created web pages to generate quality reports from the legacy data to show the statistics on its completeness.

o Designed a normalized database in SQL Server 2005 and programmed stored procedures for storing/retrieving the ‘geocoded’ data.

 Project Engineer, Wipro Technologies, Hyderabad, AP, India - SEI CMMi level 5 organization, August 2005 to July 2007:

• Service Enablement – Windows Live (SE-WL):

o SE-WL is a website that enables customers of a leading telecom organization to manage their subscriptions to Windows Live services with their non-Windows Live credentials.

o Developed web services (consumed by SE-WL) in C# 2.0 and ASP .NET 2.0 for fetching and updating information about customers’ subscription to services that are provisioned and managed by the Microsoft CSF (Connected Services Framework) 3.0.

o Implemented a reusable data access layer for enabling interaction of web services with the SQL Server 2005 database.

o Created and executed unit test cases for the web services and data access layer.

• Audio Conferencing Provider (ACP) Gateway:

o ACP Gateway facilitates users to dial-in to a Microsoft Live Meeting (LM 7) session using their PSTN telephone when they are away from their computer. This is achieved by bridging the gap between PSTN and Live Communication Server (LCS 2005) protocols.

o Developed modules in C# 2.0 using object oriented programming concepts to convert Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) traffic sent by LCS 2005 to corresponding PSTN events and vice versa.

• After-sales Service Automation:

o Developed windows and web applications to automate the after-sales service of a local dealer of household products. Implemented modules of the web application (in ASP.NET 1.1) that are used by the customers to login and register for service of their products, check the status of complaints, payment of bills and feedback. Performed client side validations using JavaScript.

o The seller uses the windows application to check for new repair requests from customers and then assign an engineer to work on the complaint and change the status of the complaints. Developed the windows application using C# on .NET Framework 1.1.

o Designed and developed the database in SQL Server 2000 which acts as a link between the website and the windows application. Coded stored procedures for customer/product information retrieval and storage.

• Global Core Data Summary (GCDS):

o GCDS is a data warehousing project on SQL Server 2000 for a leading research organization in USA. The data warehouse contains details of calls logged by end-users of various products of the organization and is modeled into OLAP cubes for faster analysis and reporting.

o Programmed and tested SQL Server 2000 stored procedures to achieve categorization of data from various sources into smaller data marts and purging of stale data from the existing data warehouses.
