Career Highlights
• Participated in the successful acquittal of Alabama Senator Harri Ann Smith in the case of United States of America v. Milton Mcgregor et al.
• Successfully defended Richard M. Scrushy in the case of the United States of America v. Richard M. Scrushy in a thirty six count indictment involving the first and only Sarbanes Oxley prosecution.
• Represented a Chinese national in United States Federal Court in the State of Arizona in one of the nation’s largest cases involving the attempted introduction of counterfeit goods into the United States economy.
• Secured a complete acquittal in the case of the United State of America v. Harvell in a drug conspiracy case.
• Successfully negotiated a plea in the case of State of Alabama v. Jackson which resulted in the dismissal of capital murder charges, a plea to manslaughter, and a two year prison sentence.
• Successfully negotiated a plea to 8 months house arrest in the case of State of Alaska v. Trotter which involved the theft of $1,800,000 from the State of Alaska Medicaid division.
• Secured a $150,000 settlement for a hospital worker assaulted by a juvenile mental patient.
• Participated in the successful acquittal in the case of State of Alabama v. Khan involving charges of terrorist threats. Subsequently, additional Federal charges of interstate domestic violence were dismissed by the United States.
• Secured a complete acquittal in the case of United States of America v. Casper as an armed career criminal.
District Attorney for the 20th Judicial Circuit, Dothan, Alabama, Assistant District Attorney (1999-2003)
Acted as prosecuting attorney in Houston and Henry County, Alabama on cases assigned to various judges. The cases were both felonies and misdemeanors of varying degrees of seriousness. Conducted Grand Jury proceedings, reviewed case files, incident offense reports, interviewed witnesses and secured their attendance at trial. Tried to completion hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases, to include over 30 jury trials as first chair.

Associate practicing in all areas of the law including plaintiff work, insurance defense, real estate transactions, foreclosures, criminal defense, family law, workers compensation, wills, operating agreements and contract drafting.
Career Highlights
• Successfully defended the City of Dothan regarding a wrongful death suit for the City’s failure to properly maintain a roadway easement.
