Hired as a contractor on the J&J Desktop Support team responsible for managing team, computer installations and desk side support (Level 1 and 2).
● Participate in daily status meetings with the J&J IT team.
● Participate in weekly move meetings with the J&J IT, Facilities and Verizon phone support.
● Create statistical reports weekly for the help-desk and desktop management
● Built the process for training new technicians, and lead the training for all new technicians for PA East.
● Fill in for the site manager when they are out.
● Perform help desk functions, including: Move computers; Install peripherals and software; Uninstall software; Grant local admin rights; Scan outside computers for security updates and virus scan software; and Retrieve laptops, desktops and peripherals.
● Replace hardware components in desktops and laptops, including: Laptop memory, wireless cards, keyboards, touch pads, batteries, CD drives and hard drives; and Desktop memory, motherboards, hard drives, CD drives, video cards and power supplies.
● Install new computers, including: Image machines with XP and Vista; Install software from an application server; and Run security patches and software updates.
● Manage warranty repair, and submit tickets for broken hardware to IBM for replacement or repair.
● Create batch files to install software, and create documentation on processes and installation/setup instructions.
● Perform basic trouble shooting for hardware and software issues for multiple J&J sites.
● Created a troubleshooting guide for level 1 and level 2.
