• Cultivating new business within the Food & Beverage canning category. Interacting daily with Plant Management in scheduling seamer service, rebuild / overhauls, emergency repair, parts procurement and training of facility maintenance staff
• Coordination with customer Engineering and/ or Maintenance Management concerning planned machine rebuild scheduling to ensure alignment to meet project timelines

My role as Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer served as a technical expert and subject matter expert in platform operations, leading the efforts in measuring, tracking, and improving system capabilities versus key processing parameters and finished product specifications. Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in the areas of quality and manufacturing line efficiencies, acted as a point-of-contact for the Corporate R&D and Engineering function for new product, process, or packaging improvements along with new production line start-up and commissioning.
Responsibilities included:
• Key Function – Management of all can closing equipment (62 machines) within the 6 Thermal Processing Shelf Stable facilities. Included support of plant Maintenance and Engineering groups with asset management, troubleshooting, training, preventive / predictive maintenance schedule adherence, development of SOP and standard work procedures, spare parts inventory management, plant records auditing for USDA / FDA regulatory compliance and supporting Corporate Quality with root cause analysis of product holds resulting from double seam defects
• Operational Function – Operational responsibility included Field Service support, leading Rapid Changeover teams in reducing closer changeover times from 8 hours to 3.5 hours, leading Demand Driven Supply Chain team with the reduction of finished goods inventory by means of improved line efficiencies / equipment reliability and streamlining of manufacturing line capabilities
