Job Description:
Performs laboratory test in Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology, Urinalysis or Blood bank, many of which are complex. Carrying out quality control on each machines and manually performed test. Involves numerous steps, techniques and latex examinations which require professional judgment. Perform Complete Blood Count, Quantitative Platelet Count, Reticulocyte Count and Absolute Eosinophil Count. Performs other hematological tests such as Bleeding Time, Clotting Time, Clot Retraction Time, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), Malarial Smear, Quantitative Malarial Smear, Quantitative Buffy Coat (QBC). Perform blood typing and phenotyping, Rh/Du typing, Coomb’s test, Antibody screening. Performs blood component preparation, RBC and platelet washing. Instruct and teaches medical technology interns in proper and aseptic technique of blood extraction and other body fluids. Concern professional application of the principles, theories, and techniques of Medical Technology to produce reliable test results that aid the physician in diagnosis and treatment.
