1981-Present Plant Industrial Engineer, Swift/Galey Society Hill Finishing Plant

Current Responsibilities include:

Quality Engineering – Developing performance standards and control reports. Using statistical techniques to identify trends in product quality performance. Providing final product testing results to customers in statistical formats (histograms, run charts including control limits and Cp data)

Industrial Engineering – Developing labor, chemical, energy, waste, and packaging/shipping standards for performance measurement and use in standard cost calculations. Providing management with long term plant utilizations and forecasts for machinery and manpower requirements. Analyzing productivity and cost performances for manufacturing departments to identify areas for improvement and recognize success.

Administration – Responsible for wage labor administration, including developing and enforcing policies regarding pay rates, training, overtime, and job transfers.

Other responsibilities held at Swift/Galey

Manage a group of up to 8 engineers responsible for all process and manufacturing systems engineering at two facilities.

Production manager of Preparation Dept. Approximately 80 employees.

Material handling equipment including fork trucks, tuggers, A-frames, conveyers, wrapping equipment, and storage racks (including specification, purchase and installation).

Process engineering including optimization and project management. Also developing process control specifications for new equipment installation.
