Provided Level 2 (highest level) Software and Technical Support for Casino Gaming and Software Company. In this role, provided technical support on hardware, Network communication and Casino Software systems installed at Casinos in the US and around the world. (SQL utilized, UNIX, AIX 5.2 environment ).
Key Roles and Leadership in this position:
Provided ultimate Customer Care which requires professionalism, diplomacy, urgent action and follow-up.
Interacted often with Casino IT Directors and their staff on resolution of urgent and critical issues. This often occurred when a Casino system experienced severe system issues or an unanticipated system shutdown. Root cause and resolution essential and provided.
Troubleshooted escalated issues (from level 1) with timely and responsive action.
Mentored Level 1 staff with guidance, assistance and helpful technical resolution information.
Integral Company and Casino interface responsibilities: Liaison for Casino Client/Customer and developers both in US and off-shore (new system) in order to provide latest releases and software updates for Casino systems. Supported planning, scheduling and implementation of these upgrades with Casino property management and internal Casino property manager.
Since Financial and Accounting is the business of the Casino industry, in my role provided support for all financial reports, balancing and accuracy, file integrity, database accuracy, interfaces and related process dependencies.
Researched and resolved hardware, network and communication issues in critical timeline.
Researched, identified and resolved software issues, or necessary workaround, in timely manner per level 2 requirements.
Interacted directly with Company Compliance and State Regulators regarding sensitive database and system changes when pertinent and significant. These events required my initiation of professional regulatory letters to State Regulators, Casino upper Management and our Compliance Area regarding pertinent system change advisements and proposed execution procedures. Once approved by all and scheduled, I executed procedures on their system per plan.
Provided Event/Service case, resolution and solution entries into Issues Database (Siebel) for service management and future solution recommendations.
Provided db2/Database monitoring, maintenance and support for Casino Systems database. Often this required off-hours support to due to sensitivity of database activity.

Evolved as sole Application System supporter and database administrator for the Insurance Company main core dependent Agency Information Management System and the Agency Appointment System. My role encompassed providing database design, maintenance, developing and programming the online supporting systems, developing and maintaining batch programs, utilities, JCL processes, File and data management, SQL queries, reports as well as addressing, and assisting other groups on security, data requirements and other variables when establishing all system accesses and system interfaces to these Agency Systems.
Solely responsible for maintaining Application (Agency) databases, packages etc., backups, pertinent files and full application recovery during Disaster Recovery exercises.
Responsible for collaboration with Client/ User communities, as well as Management directly, on projects, system designs and modification impacts. JAD sessions held regularly.
Produced frequent and often urgent Adhoc files (excel and flat) and Adhoc reports for client community as well as for the President of the Insurance Company and Agency Department per “urgent” and immediate request.
Integral in the design, development, programming, testing and implementation of many online and batch systems. Developed the necessary interface design (programs, files, security) required to interact with the main processing systems of the Insurance Company, for example, the Policy Management Systems, Claims, Direct Bill Systems . Heavily involved on project life cycle design requirements, major rewrites, all levels of testing, customer training, implementing and maintenance of many critical systems (i.e. Claims System). System documentation always maintained and current for IT staff reference and for Client as well. (i.e. Developed CICS/Cobol programs for the major Claims system redesign and rewrite which was an integral system for this Insurance Company. Most of my Information Technology career prior has evolved through my association with the Reliance Insurance Company (Property and Casualty Insurance). The career progressed as an employee fulfilling roles pf Advisor, Technical Team Lead, Lead Programmer /Engineer/Analyst, Sr Mainframe Programmer Analyst and ultimately as Consultant and application DBA. The financial challenges experienced by the Reliance organization, along with resulting outsourcing arrangements put into place for the runoff of the business for the state of Pennsylvania, employment shifted from Reliance to Computer Task Group and ultimately to RCG Information Technology Company.
