INDUSTRIAL/RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Biomedical Engineering, Louisiana Tech University Sep 2006 - Dec 2008

Research Assistant

• Investigated spatial and temporal aspects of Intracranial Electroencephalogram (IEEG) for prediction of seizures using mathematical algorithms and digital signal processing techniques.

• The work helped to differentiate seizure and non-seizure patterns automatically in IEEG with a great accuracy of 99% with a pattern recognition algorithm using Hidden Markov Model.

• Presented the thesis work at Biomedical Engineering Research Conference at Houston, in Feb ’09.

• Gained experience in technical writing of proposals, progress reports, final reports and technical presentations at conferences.

Dade Behring Diagnostics India Pvt Ltd.

Dade Behring Diagnostics (now Siemens Medical Diagnostics) is a manufacturer and service provider of fully automated analytical instruments & reagents in biochemistry, hematology, immunology & microbiology.

Technical Support Engineer Nov 2005 - Jun2006

• Provided technical support in terms of installation, trouble shooting and site planning for Dade Behring in vitro diagnostic equipments at customer sites.

• Consulted and negotiated with clients for equipment promotion.

• Actively involved in preparing, centralizing and archiving technical documentation with the application of ISO quality procedures.

• Given feedback to developers by suggesting hardware, software and design modifications and nonconformities arising in the field.

• Trained newly recruited Field Service Engineers.

• Reduced service downtime by remote support for engineering and application issues.

Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited, India

A large distributor and manufacturer of clinical laboratory instruments and diagnostic reagents in biochemistry, hematology, and immunology.

Product Engineer Aug 2001 – Oct 2005

• Was responsible for verification and validation of software and firmware applications for semi-automated chemistry analyzers and ELISA readers developed at Ranbaxy Laboratories.

• Coordinated with other product development engineering team to improve product reliability.

• Performed DFMA with respect to manufacturing and technical issues.

• Created and reviewed BOM’s, engineering drawings and performed GD&T analysis.

• Analyzed technical specifications and wrote test cases by planning test scenarios.

• Involved in writing software, firmware and system level test plans and test cases.

• Test planning, execution, analysis of test results and documentation.

• Reviewing and writing summary reports.

• Creating test assay protocols and wrote macros for test routines.

• Debugged hardware failures down to component level and provided suggestion for corrective actions.

Field Service Engineer Oct 2000 - Aug 2001

• Performed equipment service, installation, and technical modifications.

• Resolution and follow up with technical incidents on Chemistry, Hematology, ELISA, Plasma protein, and Microbiology processing analyzers.

• Consulted and negotiated with customers for product promotion, annual maintenance contracts and spare part sales.

• Worked with SAP as an end user, and involved in the process of invoicing the spare parts and searching for the availability of spares at various storage locations.

Osmania University, India

Bachelor Thesis Jun 1999 – Mar 2000

Project Title “Non linear curve fitting for glucose tolerance test”

• A study was conducted on a group of people to estimate the susceptibility of an individual to become diabetic in future by evaluating clinical data of individuals based on blood glucose levels upon impulse and step input of glucose injection.

• The acquired data is analyzed using curve-fitting techniques by coding in MATLAB.

• Designing a model to estimate the susceptibility of an individual to become diabetic in future, based on the parameters obtained by the curves.

• Tested the model with random individual’s data and by correlating it with the result obtained from the model.

CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

• H. Gadi, D.W. Moller, T.A. Valiante, D. Andrade, A.W.L. Chiu, "Spatial Time-Frequency Analyses and Non-Parametric Seizure Classification of Human Intracranial Recordings Using “Hidden Markov Model", Abstract supplement for Houston Conference on Biomedical Engineering Research, Houston, TX, February 2008.
