Descriptions on the key Projects 2007-2011

Deloitte Client Acceptance (DCA) and Conflict Check system – DCA is the most critical application of Deloitte which enables the Principals/Partners to select the most legitimate Audit Client. This involves the process of several forms of filters that the proposed Client has to undergo before being selected. As part of the existing application Conflict check requests are submitted electronically from DCA to Conflict Check system. The system has been developed upon the premise that there is a commercial advantage for Deloitte services to be gained in the competitive marketplace from increased efficiency and capacity to accept and win business.

Accomplishments:

- DCA CC integration project involved integrating different systems that a huge impact on the systems. Data integration points of the two systems were analyzed well, required understanding and review of the existing system and modules beyond project scope, which lead to successful and accurate flow data into the system.

- Interfaced well with the Development, Product Owner and Management team in a timely manner to have all the product issues and defects resolved until resolution, thereby not impacting the project schedules which had a strict timeline.

DC Pricing Model - The Pricing Model can be used to project the economics of client service engagements given specific resource requirements and bill rates and should serve as the basis for the pricing consultation process. The model calculates and presents several critical performance metrics, including effective discount, project margin, leverage, resource mix, etc. The model provides a view of forecast project economics that is consistent with Deloitte accounting systems and management reporting.

Accomplishments:

- The necessary set up required to automate Pricing Model Share Point tasks approval with the Blackberry Simulator was achieved successfully, where in the Approvers could approve/rejects each and every pricing tasks via PDA.

- Being a SharePoint application, the functionalities that were non-compliant with the standards were notified and all defects/issues were timely reported and well communicated to the team with no slippages.

- The project was recognized for Quality Cup nominated and was award Quality Applause Award.

Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) - GAAP includes the standards, conventions, and rules accountants follow in recording and summarizing transactions, and in the preparation of financial statements. This project provides Deloitte engagement teams and Deloitte clients with GAAP accounting and disclosure checklist tool. The tool will provide tailoring capabilities that leverage the FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board) Codification’s topic-based structure. This approach will not only decrease the time needed to complete the checklist but also increase the accuracy and reliability of it as audit evidence.

Accomplishments:

- Requirements were well analyzed to discover functional gaps at the beginning of the testing cycle which were then reviewed and incorporated within the application. This set up for success during the UAT phase and final deployment.

- Coordinated with US team in a timely manner to have all the project issues resolved without impacting the project schedules.

Tax Forecasting Tool - The Tax Forecasting Tool (TFT) forecasts revenue for the upcoming quarter, based on a variety of practice, client, and regional data inputs, supporting the larger firm initiative to utilize rolled up forecasting reporting for each function, and is used by approx 1,100 PPD level Tax members 3 to 4 times annually. Accomplishments: -TFT had been recognized for the proposed changes and enhancement in the requirements made during requirement review and test design phases, which as a result helped in Business Analysis.

- The project was managed well even under resource and time constraints while the tasks were prioritized effectively.

Role & Responsibilities

Project Plan and WBS: Design and Review of Project Plan for various projects in MPP - Microsoft Project Plan.

Requirement Review/Verification: Reviewing business/functional requirements, participating in project walkthroughs, analyzing the requirements, while proposing suggestions/alternatives to the Business Analysts.

Strategize: Formulating Test-Plan and incorporating test methodologies for a given Project in order to meet the project schedules.

Test Design: Design, Review and update of developed Test-Cases for the given functionality in the employed tool - HP Quality Center (QC).

Description

The project involved the Design & Development of local display module called as the Fixed Gas Display that interfaced seamlessly with a range of DetTronics gas Sensors that supports existing and future range of DetTronics toxic, catalytic and infra-red type gas sensors and transmitters.

Description

The project involved the development of firmware for an integrated single chip solution, called the SAKURA chip, targeted towards the printer market (includes Dye-sub, Ink-jet and Multi-functional Printers). The SAKURA chip would be a customized ready product for printer manufacturers.

The major components of the firmware were OS porting and abstraction, drivers for LCD, Video, memory cards (MS, SD and CF), serial keypad, USB, scheduling routines for multiple I/O monitors.

It also involved the development of PC Tools and Applications that will run on Windows-XP based PC.

User interface was developed using EmPresent, a toolkit for used for development of GUI applications for embedded platform.

Role & Responsibilities

Fixing GUI issues and bugs: The entire GUI related issues corresponding to the functionality of Printer’s application were resolved.

GUI Design: Designing of Approach and SRS Documents for GUI module.

Design of Test framework: Development of Test-Cases for all of the Printer’s functionality according to the requirements.

Execution of Validation Test Plan: Functional, Regression and Performance testing of functionalities such as, Printing from PC, Printing from DSC, Scanning, Copying, Printing from Memory-Cards and Bluetooth Modules.

Debugging: Integrated System-Level Testing followed by debugging was performed in order to trace the cause of defect.

Sanity/Smoke Testing: Testing of every version of the code, before it was committed to the VSS repository.

Generation of Bug-Reports: Generating bug reports, updating and maintaining the bug records in Defect Tracking Sheet (DTS), before each client delivery.

Documentation: Preparing, reviewing and updating documents for client and internal purposes.
