Regional Security Office Security Escort/Internal Security

Maintained the classified integrity of 9 floors in the largest permanently staffed US Embassy in the world. Collaborated with Diplomatic Security and the USMC Marine Security Guard to enforce security regulations and SOP throughout the compound. Issued security violations and notices for negligence of these regulations. Was responsible for the destruction, filing and storage of classified documents and materials. Shared the task of physically inspecting or x-raying any materials brought into Classified Access Areas (CAA) that weren’t received through classified pouch with the embassy’s Engineering Services Center (ESC). Escorted Egyptian Locally Employed Staff (LES) and non-cleared American staff into CAA and ensured that no classified objects were viewed or tampered with. Escorted VIPs and Ambassadorial guests to embassy functions/meetings held in CAA or in Limited Access areas on compound. Facilitated Egyptian LES to handle facility based issues in and around CAA including: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, cooling & heating and mechanic while providing supervision during work done to maintain CAA integrity. Have extensive training on the operation and usage of key embassy wide security systems including: infrared and motion sensing camera grids, Cypher spin lock safes, alarm consoles, spaz alarms, Duck & cover as well as imminent danger alarms. Received moderate training in providing support during the event of a Nuclear, Biological or Chemical weapons (NBC) attack on the compound. Applied proficiency in the Arabic language to communicate, instruct, give verbal warnings to and be advised from Egyptian LES and Arabic Speaking VIPs.

American Citizen Services Summer Internship Program

Assisted American citizens living or stationed in Egypt in legal and administrative services including: car titles, fiancé and spousal visas, diplomatic and tourist passport renewals, Consulate Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA), repatriotizations, voter registrations, absentee ballots and power of attorney. Used learned techniques to examine and cross reference materials given by citizens during passport renewal to ensure the information was not fraudulent. Provided support and networking between the American Citizen Services office (ACS) and the Financial Management Center (FMC) during repatriotizations and American citizen crisis situations to ensure that the citizen in need would have the availability of government funds to return safely back to CONUS. Applied proficiency in the Arabic language to guarantee that citizens who were ESL or non English speakers could express their needs, and communicate concerns.
