Program Engineering Manager

I was responsible for the communications between General Motors North America and HSRNA regarding the implementation of weatherstrip sealing components used in the production of various GM vehicles. I performed all necessary responsibilities of an integrated supplier who works within GM’s Vehicle Engineering Center in Warren, MI. I ensured that HSRNA’s end product met all GM specifications and procedures.

•Primary contact/liaison between GM engineering and HSRNA manufacturing in Korea.

•Closely interfaced with the GM integration team to follow any design modifications.

•Provided guidance and direction to the HSRNA team to ensure their products met all design specifications.

•Represented HSRNA at all GM design reviews, meetings, and program reviews.

Senior Product Engineer

My responsibilities included the design and implementation of weatherstrip sealing components. During this time I was an integrated engineer for sealing systems on the following General Motors programs: Saturn Ion Sedan and Coupe, Chevy Malibu, Pontiac G6, and Saturn Aura. My duties included the following:

•Worked with the design team to develop initial design concepts for sealing components. Verified design criteria were met per GMC specifications.

•Engineered and procured SLA or DFM design models of the sealing and sheet metal environment as well as components that are relevant to sealing, fit, form, or function of all affected areas.

•Advised and worked with internal FEA groups to evaluate part simulations.

•Determined correct material composition to use for rubber and plastic applications.

•Worked with a seal component manufacturing facility to determine manufacturability of components (DFM). Supported all DFMEA and PFMEA documentation team initiatives.

•Worked with in-house performance/test engineers to verify performance requirements for wind noise, water intrusion, and sound quality.

•Problem solved performance issues due to build variations as they arose during vehicle production. (RCA)

•Supported production variation throughout the life cycle of each vehicle and enacted revision requests or changes from assembly plants and/or manufacturing facilities to maintain consistent high quality.

•Analyzed components and processes for VAVE initiatives.

•Worked with in-house purchasing regarding procurement of machinery and materials.
