EXPERIENCE: August 2011 – February 2011: Synterprise / Laffayette Utilities Systems Lafayette, Louisiana

Shift Supervisor- Maintained, monitored, and operated 2 Babcock and Wilcox gas fired boilers, and 1 Combustion engineering gas fired boilers. Operated 3 General Electric generators, and their associated equipment. Directed a crew of 5 personnel while on shift.

February 2009 – present: New Energy Corporation. South Bend, Indiana.

Boiler Operator- Operate boilers and associated equipment for an ethanol plant. Equipment includes a Riley RX pulverized coal fired boiler and 2 Babcock & Wilcox FM oil/gas fired boilers. Conduct water testing on boiler water, feed water, and demineralized water. Testing includes, but is not limited to: silica, hardness, chlorine, conductivity, alkalinity, and sulfite.

June 2007- January 2009: University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana.

Assistant Maintenance Supervisor- maintained power plant equipment for a major university. This included scheduling work, ordering parts, being on-call 24/7, keeping parts and coal inventories, and working on all equipment used in the power plant.

Power plant equipment included: 1 Indek Keystone boiler, 2 Detroit rotograte stoker boilers, 1 Babcock & Wilcox cyclone boiler, and 2 package boilers, 7 chillers, 5 steam generators, 5 emergency diesel generators, all auxiliary and coal handling equipment.

July 1987 – July 2007: United States Navy, Norfolk, Virginia.

Chief Petty Officer-United States Navy- Expertise in all aspects of management in propulsion engineering plants; proven senior-level experience in decision making and personnel management; extensive knowledge of government military requirements in systems and equipment; committed to highest levels of professional and personal excellence.

Engineering Officer of the Watch: maintain, monitor, and control the operation of two Combustion Engineering V2M 600 psi boilers and all related auxiliaries. Coordinate, train, and supervise 22 subordinate boiler and main engine watch standers of two 11 person watch teams in the safe and efficient operation of two main propulsion engineering plants. Twenty years of experience in all aspects of boiler operation and maintenance and familiar with steam plant evolutions - steam generation, main engine turbine and reduction gear operation, electrical generation and distribution, distillation of fresh water, and operation of all associated auxiliary equipment

Specifically:

2 Combustion Engineering 600 psi V2M Modified D-Type boilers

2 General Electric 35,000 hp main turbine and reduction gear combination

5 Philadelphia 2,500 KW ship’s service turbine generators

2 Aqua-Chem 100,000 gpd, 6-stage, flash-type distilling units

Other auxiliaries which included steam driven forced draft blowers and main feed pumps; main condensate, main circulating water, and fire and flushing pumps; as well as main and auxiliary condensers.

Manager: 20 subordinate personnel in day to day operations of the ships Oil Lab and Valve Shop to include maintenance of the ships fuel oil and lube oil systems, valves as well as boiler water and feed water systems.

Ensure watch standers adhere to safety precautions while testing water and fuel.

Instructor: Graduated from Instructor Training course in May 2000; instructed over 500 students in Machinist Mate class “A” school from July 2000- July 2003; earned Master Training Specialist in May 2001.

Operational: Steamed the main propulsion plants on the USS William V. Pratt (DDG-44), USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), USS Peleliu (LHA-5), and USS Bataan (LHD-5) in support of continuous sustained combat operations in the Persian Gulf, Mediterranean Sea, Caribbean Sea and Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
