• Acts as the liaison between both internal and external customers. This includes a variety of tasking such as expediting of clearances, problem solving, & communicating issues and resolutions to the appropriate parties.
• Perform day-to-day review of customs documentation including shipping documents for accuracy. Validating value, description and overall documentation for accuracy. Where errors or problems are found, take steps to correct the documentation.
• Classify goods in direct respect to paperwork received using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States and all available internal means. (i.e. AS400 etc…) . Investigate further within the company if needed to come to the correct chapter of the HTS for classification. Also, utilizing websites such as, Cross, ADD/CVD and Customs Publications etc.
• Responsible for auditing all Customs/shipping required documentation (i.e. 7501 elements, invoices, BOL etc), through a module Intergrationpoint designed for Academy. If there is any validation errors, I am responsible for taking steps in resolving/correcting them.
